FTFA043000 FY17 Advanced Munitions Technology Complex, Eglin AFB, FL March 29, 2017 Pre-Advertisement / Industry Day Questions and Answers

1) What will be the total quantity of self-consolidating concrete?

a. Approximately 4,000 cubic yards.

2) What are the total square footages of explosive hazard environment (by classification)?

Do any explosive dust areas reach the underside of structural deck?

a. ROCC = Approx. 8,000 SF

b. Explosive Storage = Approx. 2,000 SF

c. CAPE EM = Approx. 1,300 SF

d. CAPE AP = Approx. 2,000 SF

e. ADC-50 = Approx. 1,700 SF

f. BIRSST = Approx. 3,500 SF

3) What are the anticipated soil conditions, especially in the CAPE area? Is undercut required? If so, what is the anticipated depth?

a. Beneath the topsoil, soils encountered at test locations consist of sands and silty sands that will be suitable for re-use as subgrade material beneath building and pavement areas.

b. Areas of previously placed fill near the ADC-50 facility may be loose within the upper few feet, but will be suitable for re-use and will be able to be improved through compaction.

c. Average excavation depths on the order of 12 to 18 inches to remove topsoil and root matter is anticipated. Isolated areas of deeper excavation may be anticipated.

4) Are there concerns that only providing a performance spec for the 32 blast doors (other than the main door at ADC-50) will delay the construction progress due to review/approval timeframe? Should it be considered to sole-source specify all blast doors to avoid review delays?

a. These doors are more "standard" for blast doors vs. the ADC-50 main chamber door. This follows along with previous precedence with DDESB reviews in terms of allowing a performance spec for these doors.

5) How many LF of piperacks are involved with this project?

a. Approximately 1000 linear feet of pipe racks.

6) Will concrete slabs that have a "superflat" requirement be both FF and FL? What are the requirements (#'s, etc)?

a. Yes, FF and FL requirements will both be listed.

b. FF will range from 100 to 30, and FL will range from 50 to 20.
