Text version

Under the solicitation its noted that the “Est Quantity” for the Dam Embankment, Spillway & Park area is ( 7 ).

Currently we are projecting seven (7) mowings for this area. This is an estimate based on previous requirements.

Is that the number of lawn cuts that’s estimated for the year? Just 7?

Currently we are projecting seven (7) mowings for this area. This is an estimate based on previous requirements.

The previous contractor for this Grapevine mowing included Lewisville and Ray Roberts dams. Are these two dams going to come up for bid as well in future and if so, will they be both of them together or a separate bid for each dam?

At this time, I can’t speak to future requirements.

Can you extend time frame for completion to 10 days for full mowing and can mowing start as early as 630 am until dark?

The Contractor is allowed 7 business days to complete the full mowing. Under section 1.3 Period of Performance it states Murrell Park quiet hours are 10pm-6am, so no mowing until 8am. It also states work outside normal office hours must be approved, so that does give some flexibility if the Contractor asks prior, and if there is staff that will be working later than 430pm. During summer months, Government employees do work nights and weekends, so that will allow more access to complete the mowings.

Need acreage for each parcel (Item).

To provide an exact acreage, it is necessary to have each parcel surveyed, and that is currently not being done. The estimate is 88 acres for the entire area to be mowed for this requirement.

On certain Campsites, there is a timber boundary around the concrete foundation (at the picnic tables) is trimming required between the timber boundary and the concrete foundation?

No, due to crushed granite in that space, it would be difficult to trim without throwing the crushed granite everywhere.

Does the Corp plan to plant more trees on any of the parcels? Does the Corp plan to increase the number of picnic tables on any of the parcels?

Maybe on the trees and tables, but there is no time frame.

There is lots of trash blowing around during the walkthrough, is the Corp responsible for trash pick-up or is the Contractor?

The Government does have a cleaning contractor but keeping the park spotless clean is not achievable. The contractor shall make reasonable effort to not shred trash that has blown into the mowing area.

On the Murrell park sites, there are lots of rocks in the mow areas, is the Corp going to clean that up prior to mowing season?

No

Who was the last contractor? How many times did they mow under last year’s contract? How many and what complaints were received?

Not relevant.

In Murrell Park, if the campsites and picnic tables are full would contractor be expected to go back and mow later when empty?

Every effort to mow should be made, however if an area is occupied, then the COR should be notified so they can verify the park is full, or mow another area first and comeback to the area later that day, or another day, within the Contractor’s allotted 7day window. Typically, the park is not full Mon-Thur.

What issues have prior Contractors run across that the Corp had to address?

None known.

Are they any special conditions or exceptions that prior Contractors reported or made note of to the Corp.

The Government provides the terms and conditions of the contract.

How much lead time is the Corp going to provide prior to mowing?

A minimum of one (1) week’s lead time will be given.

When are the approximate mow dates?

There are no guesses to be made as to when the areas will need mowing. The period of performance will be on the Task Orders issued from the contract, and specific dates will be addressed via the letters of instruction.

Over the last 15 years, how many different Contractors have had this contract with the Corp?

Past procurements have been published in the public records in accordance with (IAW) the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

Is herbicide approved along non lake side guardrail south side up to where the concrete starts under the guardrail?

Yes, but no wider than the width of the concrete section of guardrail.

Is herbicide use approved to be sprayed under entire length of the pipe fences on the north side?

Or just the vertical pipes or not at all?

Yes, the guardrail pipe rail sections maybe sprayed with herbicide directly underneath them, with no more than a foot on either side sprayed.

Does contractor have to weed trim the pipe fence on the northern part of dam on the east side of road? It looks like it has not been getting weed trimmed. Can we herbicide this if we have to maintain it?

Yes, it is to be maintained, and the Contractor can spray with herbicide directly underneath them, with no more than a foot on either side sprayed.

Who is the current contractor?

This requirement is currently not under contract.

Does the new Scope of work have any differences from the current scope?

The current requirement is solicited with a Performance Work Statement (PWS), and not a Scope of Work. However, the current Performance Work Statement is the new Performance Work Statement.

Once the notification is received to perform a service, how many days do we have to start?

A minimum of one (1) week’s lead time will be given.

PWS states Edging shall be accomplished along all walkways, impact areas, curbs, and lift stations. Was this part of the previous contract?

Not relevant.
