1.2.2. CLIMATE - The climate in Bowie and Cass Counties is generally mild with hot summers and cool winters. Temperatures are relatively high in the summer months of July, August, and September, reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and relatively low in December, January, and February with a few days below freezing. Extreme temperatures, snowfall, and drought conditions are experienced occasionally.
Recorded temperatures range from a maximum of 110 degrees Fahrenheit to a minimum of 4 degrees Fahrenheit with a mean annual temperature of 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit. This area receives relatively high rainfall with a range of 35 to more than 50 inches per year with an annual mean precipitation of 45.8 inches.
