Q/A # Question (Q) and Answers (A) for Solictation W9124V18B0001, Building 61 Medical Training Facility Addition/Alteration

Q 27 The plans and specifications do not match up for the Toilet, Bath, and Custodial Accessories, Section 102800, and what is shown on drawings A701. Tag designations differ. Tag callouts on details 1/A802 and 1/A803 seem to match with the specifications. Please clarify.

A 27 Provide and install new Toilet, Bath, and Custodial Accessories as per Specification Section 102800 and interior elevations on Sheets A802 and A803. All Toilet, Bath, and Custodial Accessories shown as salvaged and to be reinstalled, shall be demolished and scrapped by the contractor.

Q 28 The door, frame, and hardware schedule shown on A601 has sill detail callout 8/A602 listed for doors 135‐A, 153‐A, and 166‐A. This detail is for a window sill. Please clarify.

A 28 Delete sill detail callout 8/A602 for doors 135‐A, 153‐A, and 166‐A.

Q 29 General note on 1, 2, and 3 of A701 states to reinstall salvaged toilet accessories but the demo drawings do not call out any toilet accessories to demo and/or salvage for reinstall except for the toilet partitions.

A 29 Please refer to the answer to Question #27.

Q 30 Detail 1/A802 and 1/A803, Men’s and Women’s locker rooms, show existing wall tile to remain and protect. The finish plan on A501 have call outs for these rooms to have wall tile up to 5’‐0” AFF but do not state this is existing. Please verify if rooms 123 and 143 are to receive new wall tile or to keep existing.

A 30 Rooms 123 and 143 shall receive new wall tile.

Q 31 Wall Types schedule shown on A101 has two type C2 designations, is one of these to be C3?

A 31 Wall Type C3 should be the Wall Type C2 (As Wall Type "C" w/ 8" Metal Stud Framing @ 16" O.C. In Lieu of 3‐5/8) currently shown on sheet A101.

Q 32 Wall type C2 on A101 calls for one wall face finished with porcelain tile wainscot over ½” backerboard per finish plans. The finish plans only show wall tile being on walls in room 123 and 143 but A101 floor plans call out C2 walls in multiple locations. Please confirm the make‐up of wall type C2 is to have a tile wainscot.

A 32 The only Wall Type C2 required for new construction would be in rooms 132 and 133. Refer to interior elevations 4 & 5/A802, elevations should depict new ceramic tile between base cabinets and upper cabinets.

Q 33 Wall type C on A101 calls for 3” sound insulation at ‘S’ designated locations only. The floor plans do not show any walls with an S designation although hatching in the walls seem to show insulation.

Please clarify where the 3” sound insulation is required.

A 33 All Wall Type C (1, 2, 3) designations whall receive sound insulation.

Q 34

Type C2 walls are shown as 8” walls but when you look on the plan, type C walls are 3 5/8 in appearance. There are numerous locations that show the type C and type C2 walls joining together. That does not work. Are the C2 walls 8” or 3 5/8”. There is no way to tell them apart. Also type C walls have sound batts @ S designated locations only, there is no S designated shown. All the walls look like they have insulation. Is this true?

A 34 Please refer to the answers to Questions 31 & 33.

Q 35 Note 9/A001 – This note says typical at exterior wall assemblies. Please confirm that this is only walls that are currently exterior and do not include the interior portions along grids C and 4 (abutting B62).

A 35 Note 9 does not apply to the entire wall length of wall assemblies along Grid Lines 4 and C; however there are areas/rooms that require new electrical devices, plumbing, millwork, etc., that will require wall assembly removal and replacement.
