QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION #1

CLIN 0001‐New Post Chapel:

QUESTION #1.

Will the quantity of wired mics connections on the stage increase from what is currently available? And if so, are we to include the additional cabling to the stage from the audio mixer?

ANSWER #1

No

QUESTION #2.

Is there now a requirement to provide a short platform for the new AV desk to be placed on, and should this be approximately 6” high? What type finish will be required, carpet or other?

ANSWER #2

Yes, a short platform of 6" high is a requirement. Finish should match the AV desk.

QUESTION #3.

For the 28” video confidence monitor, do we need to provide both VGA and HDMI?

ANSWER #3

Yes, The requirement is to be able to use HDMI and VGA.

QUESTION #4.

Regarding the 28” video confidence monitor mount: What materials will be approved for the mounting hardware for wrapping around the column? Is a silver stainless steel material allowed? Or will it need to match the existing color of the column?

ANSWER #4

The materials to mount the confidence monitor must not penetrate the concrete material of the column and should blend the color as much as possible.

QUESTION #5.

Regarding paragraph 2.1.4, has the requirement for controlling the projection system been removed? In other words, are we only providing control for the audio system? Also, will a wireless touch panel be allowed instead of a wired solution?

ANSWER #5

Yes, The requirement for the control to the projection system has been removed. The system can be wired or wireless.

QUESTION #6.

Are we to add a DVI cable to the existing projector, instead of an HDMI cable?

ANSWER #6

Projector currently has a DVI connection. The requirement is to be able to use HDMI and VGA.

QUESTION #7.

Can you please clarify the use of the control system (Crestron). Based on the minimal needs discussed at the walk through, a full control system does not seem necessary as we can control digital consoles through an iPad app. It was also discussed that the control would be for audio only and no video. Is this the case?

ANSWER #7

A control system (touch screen) is needed; The chapel does not have an iPad. The touch screen control will be audio only.

QUESTION #8.

Will a lift be provided for the contractor or is that the responsibility of the contractor. If it is the responsibility of the contractor, how does the lift get into the chapel?

ANSWER #8

The lift is the responsibility of the contractor. Contractor shall provide a ramp for access. (suggest one man lift)

QUESTION #9.

The solicitation requests a “rack mounted locking drawer to house and secure audio console”. Standard consoles of the requested size are too large to be rack mounted. Does this simply mean a lockable cover to go over the console?

Yes.

QUESTION #10.

At the walk through, we discussed HDMI being the only required video format. The solicitation asks for HDMI and VGA. Which should we go by?

ANSWER #10

The requirement is to be able to use HDMI and VGA.

QUESTION #11.

Does the computer on stage need to be plugged into the sound system?

ANSWER #11

No

QUESTION #12.

Does the computer on stage need to display the same image as the projector or will it be a separate image?

ANSWER #12

Should have the capability to do both

QUESTION #13

Will there be an electrical outlet installed at new post chapel for the 28"inch TV in the front of the Pulpit?

ANSWER #13

Yes, once power requirements are identified, proper power outlets will be provided.

QUESTION #14.

What does the "Control System" need to be programmed to do? This is a small system and other than power on/off what scope of work is required?

ANSWER #14

The control system needs to separately control the gain/volume for both the mains and the monitors.

QUESTION #15.

Is a subwoofer now required for the speaker system?

ANSWER #15

No, subwoofer is not required.

QUESTION #16.

Is the quantity of four main speakers a requirement or will less speakers be allowed as long as there is complete coverage for the seating area?

ANSWER #16

Less speakers may be used as long as complete sound coverage is provided.

QUESTION #17.

Is there now a requirement to provide a short platform for the new AV desk to be placed on, and should this be approximately 6” high? What type finish will be required, carpet or other?

ANSWER #17

Yes, a short platform of 6" high is a requirement. Finish should match the AV desk.

QUESTION #18.

A snake and stage box is requested. Is the stage box of the digital snake variety or is that a recessed input box? If it is recessed, where would that be located and how many inputs/outputs would it need to have?

A digital snake is preferred over a recessed input box.

QUESTION #19.

With this chapel going towards having contemporary music, I would recommend having sub‐woofers. Is that something that can be added to the solicitation?

ANSWER #19

Subwoofers are not a requirement.

QUESTION #20.

Yes

Will 16 input channel snake be enough on the stage?

ANSWER #21

Yes

QUESTION #22.

Where will the equipment rack for the audio system be located?

ANSWER #22

The equipment rack will be located with at the sound booth at the rear of the auditorium.

QUESTION #23

Is there to be a computer input on the stage or just at Front of House?

ANSWER #23

The computer input will be just at Front of House.
