Questions & Answers May 20, 2019

1. Q: I am having trouble accessing the 1.6.7.3.6 OPSEC Training website listed as Caution-http://cdsetrain.dtic.mil/opsec/indes.htm. Any help you are able to provide would be appreciated.

A: New Link https://securityawareness.usalearning.gov/opsec/index.htm

2. Q: Can you elaborate on the PFAS testing requested? Can you tell me how many or which compounds are required?

A: Currently the Army's focus is on perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), but we expect that focus to widen to include additional PFAS compounds.

3. Q: The collection part of the solicitation is unclear to us. Does the contractor collect all or some of the sam-ples? Does the contractor only collect samples for Asbestos which has it’s own set of requirements?

A: The contractor collects samples upon request (i.e. some of the samples). The contractor will not collect asbestos samples.

4. Q: While the most samples can be transported to the lab within the Columbia SC area (within 1 hour), there are NO labs to analyze Asbestos closer than Greenville, SC or Charlotte, NC, both beyond the 1 hour drive time. (Section 4.5) Would that be sufficient , if needed?

A: Yes. Transport to Greenville, SC or Charlotte, NC for asbestos samples is sufficient.

5: Q: Would the potential asbestos sample be collected by the contractor or FT Jackson Environmental Section?

A: Asbestos samples will be collected by Fort Jackson

6: Q: Relative to CLIN 0027, 0028, 0029, 0030 & 0031, when you say 1 day, 3 days or 1 week are you saying turn around time for the analysis back to Ft Jackson?

A: Yes, the times shown are turnaround times for the analysis.

7. Q: Moreover, for the same CLINs above, are you asking for pricing for one (1) layer of analysis only, is that correct?

A: The pricing is for 1 layer only.
