1. Para 1.2 states that we are to re-use the existing switch and (7) workstations. Does the Government wish for any of the counseling rooms cameras to be monitored on any of the existing WS at any time OR will this be a camera to a WS only?
Answer: Para 1.2 describes existing/current system. 1.2.1 describes upgrades to the existing/current system. Unclear on what "a camera to a WS only" is describing. The upgraded system will operate in the same way the current system operates as viewed during your initial site visit/field survey.
2. IF this is to be any camera to any WS, the existing switch is not capable of managing that video traffic (bandwidth) across the enclosed network and will need to be replaced. IMO it should be replaced anyway because it is a low budget, low capacity unit for a home type network and not a professional environment.
Answer: Your proposal should include all upgrades needed to meet performance requirements in Part 5.
3. Additionally, the WS have WIN10 home version and not professional. We recommend that these be ungraded to allow proper configuration of the new audio/video appliances.
Answer: Your proposal should include all upgrades needed to meet performance requirements in Part 5.
4. It seems that section 1.2 contradicts section 3.1 – 3.5 related to existing items.
Answer: Part 3 describes government furnished items and services to upgrade the current system to meet performance requirements in Part 5.
5. Also, clarify the intent of section 1.3.1 to “conduct a comprehensive field survey to verify all existing conditions”; does that mean the Contractor is responsible for the replacement of exiting items (cable, monitor, switch, workstations, etc.) that are found to be defective after award of Contract?
Answer: All items listed in this question are in good working condition as viewed during your preliminary site visit/field survey. If items are damaged upon install the contractor is responsible for replacement.
6. Am I to assume that the Contractor would have access to spare replacement tiles, proper paint colors, etc. related to section 5.1.6.3?
Answer: No. Please reference Part 3.
