| CLASSES | DEFINITION |
| Classes listed below are commonly defined from a consolidation of all COMET Training. Classes are considered formal if they have an approved (G3/G4) POI or segmented POI. (Segmented POIs, are classes derived from the original course POIs and used to provide tailored training: example-Work Order management is based off SAMS-E 1/2 Training). **Due to constant course developments, it is the responsibility of each team to first review the course list for a prior to creating a new course title. **Informal (over the shoulder) training will be considered as an assistance visit. | |

| CDR / 1SG / XO Course | Duration: 1-2 day logistics training of the CDR/1SG/XO Course. Target audience: commanders and first sergeants. Course includes: an overview of COMET capabilities, and an overview training in specific logistical areas (supply / maintenance) that will assist the new commander / 1SG / XO with their newly assigned duties. Supply training may include overview of PBUSE operations and available reports, Hand Receipt Management and accountability of supplies, Types of inventories and requirements, overview of LIW, unit recon requirements and procedures, asset visibility overview, how to read and understand your property book, clothing records, absentee baggage requirements. Accounting for lost, damaged and destroyed property. Maintenance Training may include an overview of maintenance reports, Army maintenance standards, procedures for tracking scheduled services on the company training calendar, driver training program, CMDP, TMDE, and other programs (Arms Room, Communication and Electronics and CBRNE) that assist the commander with managing maintenance within their companies. | Rear-D Commander's Course | Duration: 1 day. Target audience: Identified rear-detachment commanders. Course includes: an overview of COMET capabilities, Property Accountability, and property book split procedure, and may include segmented overview training in specific logistical areas) that will assist the new commander in their assigned duties as rear-D commander. Student Capacity: 20 |
| Commander's Supply Course | Duration: 4 days. Target audience: Company Commanders. Course includes: a setting to discuss Common Failures and trends, and provide procedural guidance in Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP), Change of Command Inventory, Statement of Charges/Cash Collection Voucher, Financial Liability Investigation of Property Lost (FLIPL), Supply Room, Lateral Transfer Management, Requesting and Receiving Supplies, Absentee Baggage, Hand Receipt Management, Overview of Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE), Army Directing Ordering (ADO). Prepares commanders for property accountability for all government property assigned to their unit IAW Army and FORSCOM regulations. Student Capacity: 25 |
| OPD-Property Accountability | Duration: 4 hours. Target audience: company XOs and LTs Course includes: a tailored informative setting for officers to discuss common failures and trends, and provide procedural guidance for property accountability, hand receipt management, FLIPL process, and how property accountability ties into the Property Book Unit System Enhanced Logistic Information System. Student Capacity: 20-30 |
| Pre-change of Command | Duration: 1 Day. Target audience: Company Commanders. Course includes: commander’s responsibilities in preparation for their change of command inventory; the proper procedures for property accountability with the most up to date supply catalogs, technical bulletins and technical manuals for the property on his hand receipt and MTO&E. Also the importance of preparing shortage annexes through-out the inventory, and ensuring that property is sub-hand receipted down to the user. Student Capacity: 15-20 |
| Supply Managers Course | Duration: 4 days. Target audience: S4 personnel and Executive Officers (XO’s). Course includes: trends and common failures found during evaluation and assistance visits, training scenarios, hands-on, best practices, lessons learned and practical exams are utilized to facilitate the training so the students will gain a better knowledge of regulatory requirements. Some of the subject areas are as follows: CSDP process, managing hand receipt, inventory procedures, absentee property procedures, ARIMS filing system, SOP preparation and requirements, and operational/basic loads management. Course capacity: 20-25 |
| *PBUSE PBO Level | Duration: 5 days. Target audience: PBO / PB NCOs. Course includes: basic knowledge to manage and maintain accountability for all Government property assigned to the Property Book Team IAW Army DA regulations. The class teaches how to build organizations within the system, create derivative UICs for deployment, split hand receipts, merge hand receipts, and decrease and increase equipment on the commander's primary hand receipts. It also teaches how to process FLIPLs, process administrative adjustment reports, order non-expendable equipment, lateral transfer equipment to other Property book offices, and set the parameters for the PBUSE Operator Course. Student capacity: 15-20 |
| *PBUSE Unit Supply | Duration: 5 days. Target audience: Unit supply personnel. Course includes: Property Book Unit System Enhanced (PBUSE) procedural guidance for supply sergeants to manage the commander's primary hand receipt. This course helps maintain accountability at the unit level, teaches unit supply sergeants how to create sub-hand receipt holders, create and manage component listings, shortage annex, assignment of property to the sub hand receipt holders from the commander. They also learn to import and export component listings from the LOGSA, order expendable and durable items from the system, set up parameters in the PBUSE system to BLAST to the SSA, maintain Organization Clothing Individual Equipment (OCIE) that is on the commander's primary hand receipt, manage and maintain user created catalog and produce the different reports used at the unit level. This training may include AIT procedures. Student Capacity: 20-30 |
| CSDP | Duration: 4 hours. Target audience: BDE / BN S4 personnel. Course includes: guidance for establishing, monitoring and evaluating an aggressive CSDP by utilizing and interpreting various Department of the Army regulations and Soldier’s Manual and Trainer’s Guide- 92Y Skill Level 3 and 4 to enable soldiers to compose a comprehensive CSDP Checklist from existing assets i.e. Change of Command, COMET Team, Inspector General (IG) and Organizations or programs to avoid duplications or fragmentation of efforts. A well manage CSDP program will identify potential Chief of Staff, Army Supply Excellence Award candidates. Student capacity: 10-15 |
| CSDP Train the Trainer | Duration: 3 days Target audience: Selected BDE / BN S-4 Evaluators. Course includes: realistic hands on CSDP training for the Bn S4 Section. Training consists of training the BN S4 section on how to establish a functional CSDP program and conduct a CSDP inspection to a subordinate unit. The Bn S4 section is trained and assisted in conducting a CSDP with all subordinate unit supply rooms. The supply room Soldiers and the Bn S4 section is trained as they conduct the actual inspection. The units can then choose to use the findings as the beginning of their CSDP program. The trainers also teach how to establish and manage follow-ups and get well timelines. Student capacity: 10-15 |
| FLIPL | Duration: 4 hours. Target audience: S4 personnel, unit Supply personnel, Executive Officers (XOs), Commanders, First Sergeants. Course includes: FLIPL procedures from start to finish. Areas covered are: property loss discovery, initiating an investigation and preparing the DD Form 200 steps through completion. The workshop also covers the assignment of an investigation number, and the appointing & approving authority signature. Student capacity: 15-20 |
| SUB-Hand Receipt Holder | Duration: 6 hours. Target audience: initial sub-hand receipt holder appointed by the commander. Course includes: Instruction on property accountability process IAW AR 710-2. Areas covered are Managing sub-hand receipts, component hand receipt (CHR), hand receipt annex (shortage annex), technical manuals (TM), inventory procedures, relief procedures, required forms, LOGSA/LIW, Types of inventories and requirements, and accounting for lost, damaged and destroyed property. Student capacity: 30-35 |
| Absentee Baggage | Duration: 6 hours. Target audience: unit supply personnel. Course includes: Identify OCIE, Personal Clothing and Personal Effects, commonly used regulations, local policies and forms, along with role playing and witnessing techniques conducting inventories, safeguarding, reissue and even disposition of soldier property while on unauthorized and authorized absences from the unit. Student capacity: 10-15 |
| Supply Room Operations | Duration: 2-3 days. Target audience: Unit Supply Sergeant and Supply Specialist. Course includes: supply room set-up and organization, an overview of establishing the Army Record Information Management System (ARIMS files), maintaining PBUSE hand receipts, data entry techniques, processing and generating multiple daily and weekly PBUSE reports, OCIE (TA-50) & Personal Clothing files. Training is based on trends and common failures found during evaluation and assistance visits. During this training scenarios, hands-on, best practices, lessons learned and practical exams are utilized to facilitate the training so the students will gain a better knowledge of regulatory requirements. Some of the subject areas are as follows: CSDP process, managing hand receipt, inventory procedures, absentee property procedures, ARIMS filing system, SOP preparation and requirements, and operational/basic loads management, and a physical supply room terrain walk using unit or mock up supply rooms. Student capacity: 10 |
| *AIT | Duration: 3 days. Target audience: unit supply personnel. Course includes: introduction to the CK31H Handheld Computer; the functions and use of the battery, keypad, and the touch screen. understanding the status lights, the beeps, and scanning bar codes. Verifying that the scanner is operational and the proper installation of the SD Card This course provides training the process of using the Automatic Identification Technology systems (scanners) at the unit level Supply Sections. It includes initial establishment and set up procedures, creating inventories, conducting inventories, archiving inventories, and printing scanner labels. Students will learn procedures for Cyclic, Sensitive Items, Hand Receipt Holder changes, and special inventories using the new Automatic Identification Technology hardware fielded for unit level supply sections. Student capacity: 20-30 |
| SSA Operations | Duration: 3 days. Target audience: Ware house personnel. Course includes: Class IX Flow from SAMS-E to SARRS. The Manager Review File will be discussed and how transactions are generated to receive Class IX repair parts. A supply data flow chart will be covered to show the transactions flow to SARSS. Student capacity: 10-15 |
| RECON (SSA/ Unit) | Duration: 1 day. Target audience: Ware house specialists, unit supply personnel, TAMMS clerks. Course includes: reconciliation process which is used to keep due-in and due-out files synchronized. The course will cover the fully automated follow-up procedures, pending automated systems capabilities, and due-ins that are reconciled with the next higher supply course on a monthly basis IAW AR 710-2 and DA PAM 710-2-2. Training and hands on assistance for each individual customer. Students must bring open document register/activity register and current SARSS1 Reconciliation. Training is for anyone who conducts the RECON or manages a unit maintenance or supply program. Student capacity: 20-25 |
| *Arms Room/Armorer Course | Duration: 5 days. Target audience: Selected Arms Room personnel. Course includes: Training on inventory procedures, key control, issuing and receiving equipment, control of privately owned weapons, Night vision device , maintenance of equipment, requesting work orders, services and inputting equipment into SAMS-E. Student capacity: 25-28 |
| Weapons PMCS | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: personnel assigned a weapon, key leaders. Course includes: knowledge on conducting proper PMCS in various weapon types (M9, M4, M249, M2, MK19, etc..). Soldiers are given training on properly identifying shortcomings and deficiencies, completing DA Form 5988-E and understanding weapon functionalities in accordance with applicable Technical Manuals. Student Capacity: 50-100 |
| Maintenance Managers | Duration: 3-5 days. Target audience: Maintenance Officer, junior Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Control Sergeants (MCS) and company / battery/ troop level maintenance executive officers. Course includes: daily maintenance management task required necessary to run company / battery / battalion maintenance operations, a review of Army maintenance policies and procedures. Areas covered include training and discussion on the maintenance SOP, appointment order requirements, Shop Supply (SSL) operations, parts requisitions and processing, work order management, man-hour accounting, PMCS procedures, Schedule and Unscheduled Maintenance, MWO Procedures, TMDE, property accountability, shop safety, safety messages procedures, environmental, requirements for loading equipments into the SAMS-E system, equipment readiness reporting, internal maintenance training and other area that may be valuable to managing maintenance programs. Student capacity: 20-25 |
| OPD-Maintenance | Duration: 4 hours. Target audience: Commissioned and Warrant Officers Course includes: a tailored informative setting for officers to discuss common failures and trends, and provide procedural guidance for maintaining equipment, PMCS , TMDE, DA Form 5988-E Flow and an overview of maintenance operations. Student capacity: 20-30 |
| CMDP Train the Trainer | Duration: 4 hours. Target audience: BDE / BN maintenance personnel. Course includes: training maintenance staff personnel on proper procedures for conducting inspections, follow up procedures, and maintaining results on file. COMET conducts Train the Trainer program while the BN S4 personnel conduct a CMDP with their subordinate unit. The unit has the option to use their findings (not COMET’s) as a CMDP or they can simply use it as a training tool. Student capacity: 10-15 |
| *SAMS-1E and Refresher / Sustainment | Duration: 5-10 days. Target audience: SAMS-E operators and maintenance supervisors. Course includes: how to manage unit parameters, adding users, assigning permissions for the users, adding employees, man-hour accounting, creating operator's permits, adding new equipment and managing existing equipment i.e.: dispatching, fault management and equipment services. The student will also learn how to manage all CL IX repair parts though shop supply management, fault management, offline supply transactions, the work order process, AMMS and unit authorizations. Target audience: 20-25 |
| *SAMS-2E and Refresher / Sustainment | Duration: 1-3 days. Target audience: SAMS-2E operator (SPO maintenance) Course includes: with the practical training and experience needed to successfully operate and maintain all levels of maintenance. Training includes SAMS-1E System Utilities, Administrative and Security Processes, Unit Parameters, Establishing Contacts, FEDLOG, Backup/Restore Process Interfaces, AdHoc Query, 026 Deadline report, AMSS (Army Materiel Status System), Exchange Pricing, Maintenance Master Data Files, Understanding LIW for SAMS-2E operators. Target audience: 8-10 |
| GCSS-Army and Refresher / Sustainment | Duration: 5-10 days. Target audience: GCSS-Army operators, maintenanace and supply supervisors. Course includes: identified operators. GCSS-Army overview, classroom instruction on managing equipment and maintenance activities, Dispatch procedures, notification and workorder processes, Equipment configuration and CL IX component, process scheduled services, Received material processes, material returns, Conducting physical inventories, manage bench stock material, maintain preventive maintenance schedule, maintenance manager/maintenance supervisor reports, work center set-up, personnel work schedule. |
| GCSS-Army Equipment Status Report (ESR) | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: maintenance managers and GCSS-Army supervisors. Course includes: understanding the units maintenance posture and the importance of properly managing and reporting maintenance repair status, tracking part requisitions, and maintenance status codes. Student capacity: 20-25 |
| Unit Parameters Set Up | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: SAMS-E operators and maintenance supervisors. Course includes: establishing and managing SAMS-E parameters (unit parameters, adding users, assigning permissions for the users, establishing customer contact) Target audience: 20-25 |
| WO Management | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: SAMS-E operators and maintenance supervisors. Course includes: correct use of the work order process found within the SAMS-E LIS system. Students are provided a training database with which they actually perform all tasks. They are taught how to establish pre-defined tasks and work orders, how to correctly add tasks for work loading, add personnel to perform work and how to correctly manage status updates. Students are also taught the importance of correctly closing a completed work order so that the related man-hour accounting is accurately reflected. Student capacity: 20-25 |
| Man-Hour Accounting | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: SAMS-E operators and maintenance supervisors. Course includes: creating work scheduled, assigning work schedules to personnel, track labor hours for personnel assigned to the organization; adjusting available work days to reflect the current schedule; how to display correct direct labor hours for the work period and provide a means to update and view direct, indirect and non-productive labor hours. Student capacity: 20-25 |
| 026 NMC Report Overview | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: maintenance managers and SAMS-E supervisors. Course includes: understanding the units maintenance posture and the importance of properly managing and reporting maintenance repair status, tracking part requisitions, and maintenance status codes. | Shop Supply Management | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: SAMS-E operators and maintenance supervisors. | Standard Pricing Credits (Former Exchange Pricing) | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: maintenance managers and supervisors. Course includes: cover the dual system Exchange Pricing (EP) and Standard Pricing (SP) to include an Exchange Price for NSN’s with MRC’s of F, H, D, K and L that are on an existing or planned national repair program and a standard price for all NSNs. Also covers guidance on eliminating unserviceable credit and the ramifications of an unresolved Delta Bill. Student capacity: 25-50 |

| *PMCS Certification | Duration: 3-4 days. Target audience: LT, SSG and above. Course includes: train the trainer PMCS instruction to junior leaders. The training consists of classroom topics and hands on familiarization that teaches the correct PMCS procedures on various items; including weapons, vehicles, NVD and communications equipment. Emphasis is also placed on the proper use of the technical manual and completion of the maintenance related forms. Student capacity: 30-40 |
| Operator PMCS | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: personnel assigned vehicles or equipment. Course includes: properly completing DA Form 5988-E; PMCS procedures on vehicles, weapons, night vision devices, and communication equipment in accordance with applicable operator manuals, license requirements. | *Master Drivers Course | Duration: 3-4 days. Target audience: identified master drivers. Course includes: how to create and manage a professional driver’s training program in their respective battalions for operators to be thoroughly trained and fully qualified to safely operate military vehicles IAW all related publications. Characteristics and Capabilities of the following models of goggles; AN/PVS-7 and AN/PVS-14, Driving Techniques and Procedures, Phase I-V as outlined in AR 600-55, Appendix I and TC 21-305-2. Under the supervision of a NVD Instructor, the students are required to demonstrate their ability to safely drive a HMMWV during day light and at night while wearing NVGs for a minimum of 30 minutes. They must identify signs, route markers, road junctions, ditches, and bodies of water. Student capacity: 20-30
| *AMMO/Fuel Handlers Course | Duration: 1 day Target audience: Ammo / fuel Handlers. Course includes: updated Ammunition and Fuel policies and procedures as outlined in Fort Stewart and Army Regulations. Provides personnel the knowledge required to comply with ASP/AMMO, POL, and HM/HW policies concerning environmental protection. A. Policies and procedures are trained for the following subjects: Petroleum Handling Procedures, Petroleum Safety, Ammo Supply Point (ASP), Ammunition Transport Requirements, Equipment Refueling Safety and Environmental Protection, Hazardous Material (HM) / Hazardous Waste (HW), Maintenance Facility Control, Use of HM/HW while Performing Maintenance. | Staff Inspection Training | Duration: 1-2 days Target audience: identified inspectors and unit staff. Course includes: classroom instruction, with a follow-on hands-on block. The target audience is BN level and higher leadership along with primary and special staff (the personnel that are planning, conducting and briefing inspections). The main focus for the briefing portion is to ensure the students understand the entire inspections process IAW AR 1-201 Army Inspection Policy. The follow-on hands-on is to ensure each commodity area understands the inspection checklist questions, know how and what to inspect, and knows what right should look like when they step into a commodity area. | LOGSA/LIW Training | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: key leaders and logistic managers. Course includes: sustainment and overview training in navigating the LOGSA / LIW website, creating management reports, tracking parts and equipment, accessing preventive magazine, tracking Reset and other resources necessary to managing logistical programs and systems. Student capacity: 30 |
| Food Service Operations | Duration: 3-5 days. Target audience: Food service supervisors. Course includes: food service policies and procedures, dining facility set up and management, field food service. Identifying potential Phillip A Connelly competitors. Student capacity: 25 |
| CBRN Operations | Duration: 3-5 days. Target audience: CBRNE Course includes: procedural guidance for Deployment/Redeployment and proper CBRN room operations IAW Applicable TM’s and CBRN regulations to Unit CBRN Specialists. The training will cover requirement in the following areas: supply management, training for Individual Protective Equipment (IPE), Chemical Defense Equipment (CDE) and Basic Load for deploying/redeploying Units. | UMO Course | Duration: 3-5 days. Target audience: identified Unit Movement Officers / S-4. Course includes: unit transportation loading, hazardous material, deployment operation processes. Student capacity: 15 |
| Publication/ARIMS | Duration: 4-6 hours. Target audience: identified publications specialists or sub-account managers. Course includes: procedures to establish a Publications Account or sub-account (Through the unit pubs proponent-G1/S1), Initial Distribution Requirements (IDR), Re-supply Ordering System Management, Subscription and Re-supply Management Reports. Students will receive training on downloading local publications and the use of the Army Publishing Directorate (APD), DA Pam 25-30 and On-line Ordering System. This course provides guidance to publications officer and clerks in ordering and managing their unit publications program. Student capacity: 30 |
| Duration: 1-2 days. Target audience: managers. Course includes: an understanding on how to use the ARIMS website to manage office files. The training will demonstrate how to create an office record list (ORL) as well as print labels for office files. Training will also ensure units are utilizing the correct office symbols in accordance with local, FORSCOM and DA regulations. Student capacity: 30 | |
| Unit XO Maintenance | Duration: 4 hours. | SAMS-E Master Driver User | Duration: 3 hours Target audience: Selected Master Drivers. Course Includes: an overview of Master Driver responsibilities concerning inputting and managing operator qualifications within the SAMS-1E; step by step instructions to create a SAMS-1E user profile, operator qualification records, permits, updating records, annotating training and deleting operator qualification. |

| Movement Control | Duration: 2 days Target audience: S-4 and selected Unit Movement Officers Course includes: with an overview of the regulatory requirements for and the eleven steps used to develop a Unit Movement/Deployment Plan, format (operations order) for the unit movement plan and where to find examples of a movement /deployment plan, detailed sequence of events so that the students will understand the importance of each step in the planning process; explains the importance of different categories of equipment to be moved and the special considerations and modes for each equipment category, an overview unit packing lists and load cards preparation, stringent restrictions for air cargo shipments and TAT are explained in order to alleviate confusion or misconceptions of this sensitive subject. COMET Assistance Visit

| One on One Visit: | The purpose of an assistance visit is to give a commander a complete evaluation of his/her unit’s maintenance operations, equipment status and Command Supply Discipline Program. c. Training and assistance visits begin with an evaluation of the functional area(s). This is performance oriented and starts with an evaluation against a recognized standard to identify compliance with that standard. Training sessions will normally follow or be scheduled at the conclusion of all assistance visit evaluations. Discrepancies noted or observed during those visits will only be out-briefed to the individual requesting assistance or training. The assistance can range from 1-5 days. The one on one visit can occur on the Teams installation or require a mobile team to travel off-site. |
Telephonic Assistance The purpose of a telephonic assistance is to provide the customer with access to receive answers to questions that may not require the on-site visits. The assitance begins with a logistical question to DA or FORSCOM standards or policies. The assistance may require research prior to providing reglaroty answer and or recommendations. The assistance can range from 1-4 hours
