Martis Creek Pest Control Questions and Answers
W9123824Q0021
1. Can you please confirm the dam is in Nevada County. All maps say Placer County.
The dam is in Nevada county.
2. Who can I contact locally about snow shoeing out there?
The PM can provide additional information to the awardee contractor after contract award.
3. 18 acres? That’s a lot of bait and a lot of equipment. Am I just doing the 2 sites? What radius from the 2 sites? The 2 areas listed don’t include the physical dam.
As stated in the PWS Part C.2., the service locations include Alpine Meadows Campground and Martis Creek Project Office (radius 18 acres). The physical dam is not part of this requirement.
4. In regard to the rodent control services, the poisonous bait for ground squirrels and chipmunks (diphancinone) is now illegal in the state of California as of January 1, 2024 is now illegal in the state of California. I wanted to ask if there is an alternate solutions or entrapment.
The project is not requesting that that the contractor use a specific type of pesticide. The contractor that holds a license through the state of California must adhere to all regulations determined through the California licensing process. If diphancinone has been determined to be illegal by the state, then the contractor must adhere to that regulation. The contractor is permitted to utilize any practice outlined in the state’s licensing program.
5. Given this regulatory change, can we use trapping and/or Carbon Monoxide treatments as alternative methods for rodent control in compliance with California law?
As long as the PWS does not disclose a certain practice that cannot be used, we will defer to the regulations determined by the state of California’s licensing process and local laws.
6. What date does the campground open?
Opens 15-MAY-2024
7. When does campground close for the season?
Closes 15-NOV-2024
8. The RFP mentions an 18-acre site. I need to know exactly where rodent controls are requested.
Quantity of rodent controls dictate initial cost and monthly service cost. I can’t bid $200 and expect to get rodent control on all 18 acres.
As stated in the PWS Part C.2., the locations include Alpine Meadows Campground and Martis Creek Project Office (radius 18 acres). Quantity is left to be determined by the contractor’s evaluation.
