Beale Janitorial Services Questions & Answers

1. According to page 48, “Floors shall be stripped, then waxed or polished two times a year during the months of May and November”. What is the square footage of the floors to be stripped, waxed or polished? What is the square footage of tile/vinyl flooring?
A: 64 square feet (vinyl flooring) and the requirement for floor stripping and waxing has been removed.
2. Can you provide the number of restrooms, sinks, toilets, and urinals to be cleaned for each restroom?
Are the urinals wall mounted for floor to wall?
A: One (1) floor mounted toilet, One (1) wall mounted sink, no urinals.
3. According to page 46, “[c]lean all interior and exterior window surfaces. Contractor shall take care to ensure no damage in the removal and replacement of window screens. This service shall be performed once in May and again in November”. Can you provide the number of windows or a floorplan of the office that defines location and quantity of windows to be serviced? What is the approximate size (small, medium, large)?
A: Nine (9) 4-foot x 4-foot sliding windows with screens.
4. According to page 45, “vacuum all accessible carpeted surfaces”. What is the square footage of carpeted areas? Is the office space on 1 level or 2 or more levels? Does the office space have stairs with carpet or tile/vinyl flooring?
A: Approximately 1,000 square feet of carpeted surface, One (1) level of office space, no stairs.
5. How many soap stations in total for both men’s and women’s restroom?
A: In accordance with the Performance Work Statement, the contractor shall provide hand soap from a store-bought dispenser.
6. How may paper towel stations in both men’s and women’s restroom? Are they manual pull or roll?
A: One (1) paper towel dispenser.
7. How many trashcans in both restrooms?
A: One (1) trashcan.
8. According to page 49. "The contractor shall supply restrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, liquid hand soap, toilet seat covers, trash liners, urinal screens/deodorants, solid and/or aerosol room deodorizers at each bathroom toilet." How many occupants use this office space?
A: Four (4) regular occupants
9. Is there is kitchen or sink common area?
A: No, there is not a kitchen or sink common area.
10. Is a security clearance needed for this contract?
A: Yes
11. How long is the security training? Is all the training online asynchronous or partly in person (for scheduling purposes within the 30 days? How do the personnel access the online training?
A: Security training is not required by Beale AFB in association with the background check(s) required for base access.
12. Is there a storage area for the where products, tools, and supplies can be stored?
A: There is no storage area for the contractor to keep any supplies or tools.
