About this file

This solicitation requests proposals for the design and construction of an Explosives Decomposition Chamber Facility at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Tennessee. The facility will utilize Dynasafe's Static Detonation Chamber and Air Pollution Control System technologies to safely and effectively treat bulk explosive waste generated at the plant, replacing the current practice of open burning. The new facility will process explosive waste in an emissions-controlled thermal treatment system that is compliant with operating permits and Army policy, and will reduce or eliminate open burning. It will include multiple Static Detonation Chambers paired with Air Pollution Control units, a central material handling building, and a central control room. The chambers and associated components will work together to treat various hazardous explosive waste streams from the plant. The solicitation is being conducted by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District on behalf of the Holston Army Ammunition Plant.
