ADDENDUM CHANGES TO PROJECT MANUAL
CONSTRUCTION DRAWING SETS
Contractor is responsible for all costs associated with producing and distribution of construction drawing sets.
SECTION 01100 – SUMMARY, Article 1.3 paragraph C add the following:
3. All testing and inspections as outlined within the construction documents are to be provided by the general contractor.
SECTION 01352 – SUSTAINABLE DESIGN REQUIRMENTS, Article 1.5 paragraph A add the following:
LEED Coordinator shall be an agent of the general contractor. General contractor to include cost in bid.

1) The roofing manufacturer shall have the sole and exclusive obligation for all warranty work commencing on the date of substantial completion.
2) During the warranty period, the roofing manufacturer shall take appropriate action to cause any non-performing portions of the roof system to perform their proper functions.
3) Submit a specimen copy of the weathertightness warranty, including evidence of application for warranty and manufacturer’s acceptance of the applicator and warranty conditions.

SECTION 15400-7 PLUMBING
o ‘HD-1’ Hopper Drain: Replace with the following, “J.R. Smith 3483 Extra large deep recteptor, 17” Deep, 24”Lx12”W top exterior dimension, 4” outlet connection, acid resistant coated interior, stainless steel sediment bucket, and loose set acid resistant coated grates. Provide deep seal p-trap.
o Add ‘EW-1’ Emergency Eye Wash: Wall hung, Haws Model 7360-BT stainless steel receptor, spray heads, valve with lever, stream control, P-trap, and wall bracket. ½” CW, 1-1/2” Waste, 1-1/2” Vent.

SHEET P1.1A LOWER LEVEL PLUMBING PLAN – SOUTH (RE-ISSUED SHEET)
1. The “General Note” on this sheet shall be changed to read, “All items on this sheet shall be bid as part of the Base Bid.”
2. The ‘Y’ into the waste piping near grid E,26 shall be reversed.
3. The roof drain primary and secondary piping at both stair towers shall be re-routed. Note that the downspout nozzles are 12 feet AFF.
SHEET P1.1B LOWER LEVEL PLUMBING PLAN – NORTH
1. The downspout nozzle at grid A,10 shall be located at 18” above finished grade.

SHEET M1.1A LOWER LEVEL MECHANICAL PLAN – SOUTH (RE-ISSUED SHEET)
1. All return grilles ‘R-3’ shall have note #7 attached (ducted to above ceiling)
2. Above Offices FS 8,10,27,&28, Alarm Dorm FS 3, and Alarm Room FS 1; a return air opening 14”x4” shall be cut into the gypsum board wall above the ceiling over each door leading to Hallway FS 47.
3. Above Storage FS 30, two return air openings 14”x16” shall be cut into the gypsum board wall above the ceiling at grid E,24. The general contractor shall frame these openings and each opening shall be fit with burglar bars (#4) at 6” on center vertically and horizontally.
4. Above Storage FS 130 and Alarm Dorm FS 3, add ½” heating hot water piping to serve the VAV box labeled ‘VAV-1’.
5. Add lined transfer air opening and duct at G,25. Provide horizontal fire/smoke damper at deck (upper level floor).
6. Reroute exhaust ductwork from EF-6 and add 24”x16” ‘L-11’ louver (Aerolite K6772) at exterior wall.
7. Add fire smoke damper to 14”x8” duct at grid K,27.
8. Add callout ‘DB-1’ to note 15 at grid J,26.
9. Remove transfer grills ‘TG-4’ from PPE Locker FS-37. Add 24”x24” return grille ‘R-2’ for lay in ceiling and provide 14”x16” transfer air opening above ceiling above wall at grid F.
10. Add 1-1/4” heating hot water supply and return lines from chase above to connect to 1-1/2” supply and return lines from mechanical room.
SHEET M1.1B LOWER LEVEL MECHANICAL PLAN – NORTH
1. For EF-11, the 8” ductwork shall be re-routed to the east 12 feet and then to the north 15’ and connect to the ductwork rising up to the penthouse above.
2. In Equipment Maintenance E 4b near grid K,10, a 4” dryer vent duct shall be run from the dryer with an in-line dryer booster fan ‘DB-1’ and extend up through the roof terminating in a gooseneck connection and backdraft damper suitable for clothes dryer applications.
3. The VAV box at grid C,9 shall have piping size changed from 1” to ¾”.
4. The size of the ductwork to ‘VAV-6’ located near grid E,7 shall be changed to 14” diameter.
5. The airflow for the diffusers with callout located near grid F,5 shall be changed to 330
CFM.
6. The airflow for the diffusers with callout located near grid A,3 shall be changed to 500
CFM.
SHEET M1.2A UPPER LEVEL MECHANICAL PLAN – SOUTH
1. The callout for VAV-6 near grid J,16 shall be changed to VAV-7. Piping to this unit is shown on M4.1.
SHEET M1.2B UPPER LEVEL MECHANICAL PLAN – NORTH
1. Above Consult M 8, Medical M 10, Storage M 13, and Break M 17; a return air opening
14”x8” shall be cut into the gypsum board wall above the ceiling over each door leading to Hallway M 16.
2. Above Men M 18 and Women M 19, a two return air openings 34”x34” shall be cut into the gypsum board wall above the ceiling at Grid F. The general contractor shall frame these openings and each opening shall be fit with burglar bars (#4) at 6” on center vertically and horizontally.
SHEET M5.1 MECHANICAL SCHEDULES
1. Mechanical Equipment Schedule: Add the following: ‘DB-1’ Dryer Booster: in-line exhaust fan to deliver 72 CFM @ 3/8” e.s.p. Metal, powder coated, galvanized housing, mounting bracket, permanently sealed bearings, totally enclosed, and provide dryer vent switch to activate fan upon dryer operation.

C. Nonshrink, Nonmetallic Grout: Premixed, factory-packaged, nonstaining, noncorrosive, nongaseous grout complying with ASTM C 1107; recommended in writing by manufacturer, for exterior applications.
D. 2.3 FABRICATION
A. Metal Components: Form to required shapes and sizes with true, consistent curves, lines, and angles. Separate metals from dissimilar materials to prevent electrolytic action.
B. Welded Connections: At exposed connections, finish surfaces smooth and blended so no roughness or unevenness shows after finishing and welded surface matches contours of adjoining surfaces.
C. Pipes and Tubes: Form simple and compound curves by bending members in jigs to produce uniform curvature for each repetitive configuration required; maintain cylindrical cross section of member throughout entire bend without buckling, twisting, cracking, or otherwise deforming exposed surfaces of handrail and railing components.

D. Factory Assembly: Assemble components in the factory to greatest extent possible to minimize field assembly. Clearly mark units for assembly in the field.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION, GENERAL
A. Comply with manufacturer's written installation instructions unless more stringent requirements are indicated. Complete field assembly of site furnishings where required.
B. Pipe Sleeves: Use steel pipe sleeves preset and anchored into concrete for installing posts.
After posts have been inserted into sleeves, fill annular space between post and sleeve with nonshrink, nonmetallic grout or anchoring cement, mixed and placed to comply with anchoring material manufacturer's written instructions.

SECTION 05400 - COLD-FORMED METAL FRAMING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes the following:
1. Exterior load-bearing wall framing.
1.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Structural Performance: Provide cold-formed metal framing capable of withstanding design loads within limits and under conditions indicated.
1. Design Loads: As indicated.
2. Deflection Limits: Design framing systems to withstand design loads without deflections greater than the following:
a. Exterior Load-Bearing Wall Framing: Horizontal deflection of 1/360 of the wall height.
1.3 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product and accessory indicated.
B. LEED Submittal:
1. Product Data for Credit MR 4.1 and Credit MR 4.2: For products having recycled content, documentation indicating percentages by weight of postconsumer and preconsumer recycled content.
a. Include statement indicating costs for each product having recycled content.
C. Shop Drawings: Show layout, spacings, sizes, thicknesses, and types of cold-formed metal framing; fabrication; and fastening and anchorage details, including mechanical fasteners.
1. For cold-formed metal framing indicated to comply with design loads, include structural analysis data signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for their preparation.

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Product Tests: Mill certificates or data from a qualified independent testing agency indicating steel sheet complies with requirements.
B. Welding: Qualify procedures and personnel according to AWS D1.3, "Structural Welding Code- -Sheet Steel."
C. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Where indicated, provide cold-formed metal framing identical to that of assemblies tested for fire resistance per ASTM E 119 by a testing and inspecting agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction.
D. AISI Specifications and Standards: Comply with AISI's "North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members" and its "Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - General Provisions."
1. Comply with AISI's "Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - Truss Design."
2. Comply with AISI's "Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - Header Design."
E. Comply with AISI's "Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - Prescriptive Method for One and Two Family Dwellings."
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MATERIALS
A. Recycled Content of Steel Products: Provide products with an average recycled content of steel products so postconsumer recycled content plus one-half of preconsumer recycled content is not less than 25 percent.
B. Steel Sheet: ASTM A 1003, Structural Grade, Type H, metallic coated, of grade and coating weight as follows:
1. Grade: ST33H As required by structural performance.
2. Coating: G90 or equivalent.

A. Steel Studs: Manufacturer's standard C-shaped steel studs, of web depths indicated, punched, with stiffened flanges, and as follows:
1. Minimum Base-Metal Thickness: 0.0329 inch.
B. Steel Track: Manufacturer's standard U-shaped steel track, of web depths indicated, unpunched, with straight flanges, and same minimum base-metal thickness as steel studs.
C. Steel Box or Back-to-Back Headers: Manufacturer's standard C-shapes used to form header beams, of web depths indicated, punched, with stiffened flanges, and as follows:
1. Minimum Base-Metal Thickness: 0.0329 inch.
2. Flange Width: 1-5/8 inches.

2.3 FRAMING ACCESSORIES
A. Fabricate steel-framing accessories from steel sheet, ASTM A 1003, Structural Grade, Type H, metallic coated, of same grade and coating weight used for framing members, unless otherwise indicated.
B. Steel Shapes and Clips: ASTM A 36, zinc coated by hot-dip process according to ASTM A 123.
C. Anchor Bolts: ASTM F 1554, Grade 36, threaded carbon-steel hex-headed bolts and carbon-steel nuts; and flat, hardened-steel washers; zinc coated by hot-dip process according to ASTM A 153, Class C.
D. Expansion Anchors: Fabricated from corrosion-resistant materials, with capability to sustain, without failure, a load equal to 5 times design load, as determined by testing per ASTM E 488 conducted by a qualified independent testing agency.
E. Power-Actuated Anchors: Fastener system of type suitable for application indicated, fabricated from corrosion-resistant materials, with capability to sustain, without failure, a load equal to 10 times design load, as determined by testing per ASTM E 1190 conducted by a qualified independent testing agency.
F. Mechanical Fasteners: ASTM C 1513, corrosion-resistant-coated, self-drilling, self-tapping steel drill screws.
1. Head Type: Low-profile head beneath sheathing, manufacturer's standard elsewhere.
2.4 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS
A. Galvanizing Repair Paint: ASTM A 780.
B. Cement Grout: Portland cement, ASTM C 150, Type I; and clean, natural sand, ASTM C 404.
Mix at ratio of 1 part cement to 2-1/2 parts sand, by volume, with minimum water required for placement and hydration.
C. Shims: Load bearing, high-density multimonomer plastic, nonleaching.
D. Sealer Gaskets: Closed-cell neoprene foam, 1/4 inch thick, selected from manufacturer's standard widths to match width of bottom track or rim track members.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 PREPARATION
A. Install load bearing shims or grout between the underside of wall bottom track or rim track and the top of foundation wall or slab at stud or joist locations to ensure a uniform bearing surface on supporting concrete or masonry construction.
B. Install sealer gaskets to isolate the underside of wall bottom track or rim track and the top of foundation wall or slab at stud or joist locations.

3.2 INSTALLATION, GENERAL
A. Install cold-formed metal framing according to AISI's "Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing - General Provisions" and to manufacturer's written instructions unless more stringent requirements are indicated.
B. Install cold-formed metal framing and accessories plumb, square, and true to line, and with connections securely fastened.
C. Install framing members in one-piece lengths.
D. Install temporary bracing and supports to secure framing and support loads comparable in intensity to those for which structure was designed. Maintain braces and supports in place, undisturbed, until entire integrated supporting structure has been completed and permanent connections to framing are secured.
E. Do not bridge building expansion and control joints with cold-formed metal framing.
Independently frame both sides of joints.
F. Install insulation, specified in Division 07 Section "Thermal Insulation," in built-up exterior framing members, such as headers, sills, boxed joists, and multiple studs at openings, that are inaccessible on completion of framing work.
G. Fasten hole reinforcing plate over web penetrations that exceed size of manufacturer's standard punched openings.
H. Erection Tolerances: Install cold-formed metal framing level, plumb, and true to line to a maximum allowable tolerance variation of 1/8 inch in 10 feet and as follows:
1. Space individual framing members no more than plus or minus 1/8 inch from plan location. Cumulative error shall not exceed minimum fastening requirements of sheathing or other finishing materials.
3.3 LOAD-BEARING WALL INSTALLATION
A. Install continuous top and bottom tracks sized to match studs. Align tracks accurately and securely anchor at corners and ends, and at spacings as follows:
1. Anchor Spacing: As shown on Shop Drawings.
B. Squarely seat studs against top and bottom tracks with gap not exceeding of 1/8 inch between the end of wall framing member and the web of track. Fasten both flanges of studs to top and bottom tracks. Space studs as follows:
1. Stud Spacing: As indicated.
C. Set studs plumb, except as needed for diagonal bracing or required for nonplumb walls or warped surfaces and similar configurations.
D. Align studs vertically where floor framing interrupts wall-framing continuity. Where studs cannot be aligned, continuously reinforce track to transfer loads.
E. Align floor and roof framing over studs. Where framing cannot be aligned, continuously reinforce track to transfer loads.

F. Anchor studs abutting structural columns or walls, including masonry walls, to supporting structure as indicated.
G. Install headers over wall openings wider than stud spacing. Locate headers above openings as indicated. Fabricate headers of compound shapes indicated or required to transfer load to supporting studs, complete with clip-angle connectors, web stiffeners, or gusset plates.
1. Frame wall openings with not less than a double stud at each jamb of frame as indicated on Shop Drawings. Fasten jamb members together to uniformly distribute loads.
2. Install runner tracks and jack studs above and below wall openings. Anchor tracks to jamb studs with clip angles or by welding, and space jack studs same as full-height wall studs.
H. Install supplementary framing, blocking, and bracing in stud framing indicated to support fixtures, equipment, services, casework, heavy trim, furnishings, and similar work requiring attachment to framing.
1. If type of supplementary support is not indicated, comply with stud manufacturer's written recommendations and industry standards in each case, considering weight or load resulting from item supported.
I. Install horizontal bridging in stud system, spaced as indicated. Fasten at each stud intersection.
1. Bridging: Cold-rolled steel channel, welded or mechanically fastened to webs of punched studs with a minimum of 2 screws into each flange of the clip angle for framing members up to 6 inches deep.
2. Bridging: Combination of flat, taut, steel sheet straps of width and thickness indicated and stud-track solid blocking of width and thickness to match studs. Fasten flat straps to stud flanges and secure solid blocking to stud webs or flanges.
3. Bridging: Proprietary bridging bars installed according to manufacturer's written instructions.
J. Install steel sheet diagonal bracing straps to both stud flanges, terminate at and fasten to reinforced top and bottom tracks. Fasten clip-angle connectors to multiple studs at ends of bracing and anchor to structure.
K. Install miscellaneous framing and connections, including supplementary framing, web stiffeners, clip angles, continuous angles, anchors, and fasteners, to provide a complete and stable wall-framing system.
3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Testing: Owner will engage a qualified independent testing and inspecting agency to perform field tests and inspections and prepare test reports.
B. Field and shop welds will be subject to testing and inspecting.
C. Testing agency will report test results promptly and in writing to Contractor and Architect.
D. Remove and replace work where test results indicate that it does not comply with specified requirements.
E. Additional testing and inspecting, at Contractor's expense, will be performed to determine compliance of replaced or additional work with specified requirements.

3.5 REPAIRS AND PROTECTION
A. Galvanizing Repairs: Prepare and repair damaged galvanized coatings on fabricated and installed cold-formed metal framing with galvanized repair paint according to ASTM A 780 and manufacturer's written instructions.
B. Provide final protection and maintain conditions, in a manner acceptable to manufacturer and Installer, that ensure that cold-formed metal framing is without damage or deterioration at time of Substantial Completion.
