Solicitation Issued Solicitation # W91XK-20-B-0001 Hull Inspections

Number Answer Initials of Respondant

Date/Time Answered

1 Yes, photos and drawings are provided for each. TSB 20Jan / 0900

There are as-built drawings in PDF or .tif format, but no detailed CAD drawings for the 3 vessels. TSB 20Jan / 0901

While the HURON and WHITEFISH BAY are to be dry docked at the same time in the same work site (within roughly 100ft) they are on different preparation schedules and it is not likely that necessary work can be performed on both vessels at the same time. TSB 20Jan / 0902

4 The technician can leave once the inspection is complete. TSB 20Jan / 0903

Per EM 385-1-1 requirements: All entrants, authorized attendants, and supervisor or managers shall receive an initial CS training course that includes hands-on practical exercise with all the equipment; rescue exercise; and completing the CS permit. The training shall include, as a minimum: the roles and responsibilities in conducting an entry;

specialized training on the use, calibration, and maintenance of monitoring, communications, and retrieval equipment; the hazards of the entry and the control of the hazards of the entry. As long as the contractor's training meets these requirements, we will accept that training as meeting the EM 385-1-1 requirement.

Yes. Since CAD drawings are not being provided we are open to markups on provided existing drawings. Additional .pdf/.tif drawings may be available upon award. TSB 20Jan / 0904

3)Are you open to other competing formats to CAD for the report? We typically mark up the existing drawings in whatever format they’re given in like this:

Questions Close

One requirement is training for the “EM 385-1-1, OSHA 1915 confined space and possibly fall protection training as per ANSI A359”. All of our employees have OSHA 10, MSHA, ISN, DISA and countless hours of training pertaining to confined spaces, fall protection along with several others as with working with multiple companies that cover these topics in their site specific training. Would this be sufficient for this requirement?

Can you confirm?

Do you have any pics of the 3 different marine vessels?

I am wondering if there are any drawings available for the above subject solicitation and also if the required CAD generated drawings per the Scope of Work will be given to the contractor to mark up per the findings?

1)The WHITEFISH BAY and HURON are dry docked simultaneously, will these be at the same work site, or different work sites? Would it be feasible to service both at the same time with the same team?

The solicitation requests 3 individual trips be quoted, one per vessel.

2)Do you expect the technician to be onsite the entirety of the inspection periods Feb 1-28 for emergent work, or to leave once the inspection is complete?
