SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION 00 10 00 - SOLICITATION
The following have been added by full text:
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q1. It states in Section 2.6 Period of Performance to complete all work within 300 calendar days, but no later than September 15, 2022. And no work shall begin before October 7, 2022. This is conflicting information. What is the actual period of performance?
A1. Section 2.6 of the Specifications has been corrected to read 15 June 2023 vice 15 September 2022.
Q2. Section 2.14. Call for a “VIRGIN MIX” which means no RAP in the mixes, and also for a PG 64E-22 liquid asphalt in the mixes. Would the USACE accept a PG 65S-22 liquid asphalt in the mixes with RAP as it is much cheaper. What will the required ESALs be for the asphalt mixes? For example, <0.3 or a 0.3-<3. What is the required SRL for the Wearing Course?
A2. Skid Resistance Designation shall be “H” for the wear course, ESAL’s are less than 0.3m, virgin mix is required, and no RAP.
Q3. What class of Geotextile goes under the subbase in the new parking pad area?
A3. Type 4 woven geotextile under the new parking area.
Q4. What is the physical Location where this work will take place? GPS Coordinates of Physical address.
A4. The LAT/LON of the center point of the work is: 41.84199518910697, -79.01690579873241
Q5. Please advise: The existing blacktop in the entrance drive, and at the front of the maintenance building, is extremely cracked and deteriorated. It appears that if 1 ½” of existing blacktop is milled off, that there will be little or no blacktop left. Our recommendation is to mill and leave the existing blacktop in place, regrade and roll it, and install 2 courses of blacktop (3 – 3 1/2” of 19mm & 1.5” of 9.5mm). Until this work is performed, we would have no idea as to whether the existing subbase is suitable or not. The back is in slightly better condition, but the thickness of the existing blacktop is unknown.
A5. The milling depth may possibly be adjusted after coordination with the COR. The COR will be the same with from the Boat Ramp Paving and will be familiar with the field adjustments. As for the thickness on the back, included in the specs is an image that shows there is adequate thickness in the back of the lot to achieve the milling.
