The RFI addresses four key contractor questions regarding the roof repair project, including TPO membrane thickness, drip edge installation, HVAC equipment, and building occupancy. Key responses indicate that the 72 mil TPO is the minimum requirement thickness, contractors can propose alternative thicknesses if minimum requirements are met, and the Historic Preservation Specialist must approve all materials and finishes. The building will not be occupied during construction, and no roof-top HVAC equipment needs to be removed or reinstalled. Repair Roof at B122
1.) Back porch request for tpo to be installed 72 mil , can we substitute with 80 mil since is ready available and less of a lead time. 72 mil and with this quantity, ETA approximately 5 months.
RESPONSE: TPO 72mil is the minimum requirement thickness. Contractor can propose a different thickness if the minimum requirements in the SOW and drawings are met.
2.) The TPO section will need a TPO drip edge, any issues here with the historical department?
RESPONSE: Attached is a typical TPO drip edge detail. The Contractor shall match (as much as possible) the width and finish of the CastleTop drip edge so there is a smooth transition between the different roof materials. The Contractor can submit an RFI with their proposed TPO drip edge detail for further review by the Historic Preservation Specialist. As a reminder, all finishes, materials, profiles, dimensions, etc., will be approved by the Historic Preservation Specialist.
3.) Do we need to remove and reinstall any HVAC equipment?
RESPONSE: Building 122 does not have roof top HVAC equipment that needs to be removed and reinstalled during the replacement of the roof system.
4.) Will this building be occupied while under construction?
RESPONSE: Building won’t be occupied during construction.
