RFI QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

W911SG‐18‐R‐R327

(aka W911SG‐18‐R‐0074) RFI Questions and Answers

1. Is there a specific type of percussion anchor that is required?

Yes, TL100‐TLA2‐5FT‐3MM‐Z.

2. What is the size of the pump at the stand pipe?

40 HP submersible turbine pump.

3. How often does the access roads to this location get shut down?

That’s completely Mission dependent; a concrete answer cannot be provided to this question. During construction, contractor shall note (within daily reports) the days that they were delayed or kicked out of the project site due to missions and the POP will be extended accordingly. SEE SECTION 2.6 OF THE SOW.

4. Is there any kid of schedule that we can be notified about to plan around?

During construction, contractor can call Mission Control every evening for mission closures the following day. SEE SECTION 2.6 OF THE SOW.

5. Is there access through the T or C side of WSMR?

No. Entrances to WSMR up range are either Stallion Range Center (SRC) located at most northern part of range near Socorro, Tuly Gate located on East side of range and Small Missile Range (SMR) located at most southern part of range.

6. The manufactures of the Concrete Cloth started this to us in an email “(Pullout out test must be done prior to installation to verify load capacity ‐ size of anchor and spacing might change depending on the results).”

Correct, see Plan Sheet #6 (Percussion Anchor Detail note). Contractor shall field verify the capacity for percussion anchors.

7. The manufacturer of the concrete cloth stated that the lad screws can be found in a collared package if they are zinc coated but the stainless cannot and will add much time to installation. Is it possible to use zinc plated instead of stainless steel?

No, zinc will eventually rust and cause issues in the future. Stainless steel screws (American made) shall be proposed and installed during construction.
