About this file

This is a Military Specification Sheet for athletic shirts required by the United States Army Military Academy (USMA) West Point for the Corps of Cadets.

The contractor shall supply GYM-A black shirts in both short-sleeve and long-sleeve formats with specific material and printing requirements. All shirts must be 100% preshrunk cotton with seamless collars, double-needle stitching throughout, and taped shoulder-to-shoulder construction. Shirts shall feature the standard USMA crest in Army Gold and, for standard shirts, the cadet's last name printed in block letters (3/8" thick, 0.5" high) in matching Army Gold, positioned 0.5" above the crest. Annual production totals 13,100 shirts across three categories: 4,000 short-sleeve shirts with white write-on nameplates, 5,200 short-sleeve regular printed shirts, and 3,900 long-sleeve standard shirts. The write-on nameplate consists of a 1-inch by 5-inch heavyweight cotton twill patch (white) positioned 1.0 inch above the crest, engineered to prevent ink bleeding when written on with permanent marker and maintain clarity through institutional laundry cycles, with delivery required no later than 1 April 2027.

The Government will provide an alphabetical cadet list with associated sizes on or about 1 May annually, and the contractor must complete deliveries within 60 calendar days of receiving batch information. Shirts shall be packaged in plastic bags organized by size with individual cadet names clearly marked; short-sleeve shirts bundled in packages of six per cadet and long-sleeve in packages of three per cadet. Approximately 168 shirts per carton shall be boxed alphabetically by cadet last name with packing lists included. The contractor must replace, at no additional cost, any shirts with misspelled names, incorrect sizes, or defective write-on patches within seven calendar days of error notification. Physical delivery is to U.S. Army USMA West Point, Building 913, Washington Road, West Point, NY 10996-1535.
