RESPONSE TO VENDOR QUESTIONS
Q1: Training Access: Could you please confirm if the OPSEC Awareness for Military Members, DOD Employees, and Contractors training is exclusively available through the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) at the link provided (https://www.cdse.edu/Training/eLearning/GS130/), or are there alternative platforms or methods available for completing this training?
A1: Refer to PWS 1.7.1.1 for approved training location & website link.
Q2: Training Duration: How long does it typically take for an employee or subcontractor to complete the OPSEC Level I Training? We would like to ensure that our team schedules enough time to complete the training within the required timeframe.
A2: The website at the link provided in question 1 (and as annotated PWS 1.7.1.1) indicates the length of training is 25 minutes.
Q3: Certificate Submission: Is there a specific format or system for submitting the certificates of completion to the COR or contracting officer? Should these be submitted as individual certificates, or can they be compiled into a single document?
A3: PDF format preferred, but any common file format compatible with windows is acceptable. Individual or batch file is acceptable.
Q4: Recurrent Training: Is there a requirement for recurrent OPSEC training, or is the initial Level I training sufficient for the duration of the contract? If recurrent training is required, how often should it be completed?
A4: AR 530-1 , para 4-2 indicates a minimum of an annual training requirement.
Q5: Training Validity: If some of our employees have already completed OPSEC Level I Training within the past year, would those certificates still be valid, or would they need to retake the training upon the start of this contract?
A5: PWS 1.7.1.1 indicates "New employees must be trained within 30 calendar days after contract start date, new employee hire, or effective date of incorporation of this requirement into the contract, whichever is applicable". It is implied the training must come from the approved training location referenced in question #1 and within the timeframe prescribed.
Q6: Assistance and Resources: Are there any additional resources or points of contact that we can reach out to for assistance during the training process, especially if we encounter technical difficulties or have further questions?
A6: Refer to Technical Support link and contact information provided on the approved training website for technical difficulties or further questions.
