RESPONSE TO VENDOR QUESTIONS

Q1. For the Fiber connection, are there local infrastructure that has fiber runs that we can utilize to extend the connection from the Demark Location?

A1. No there is no existing fiber into the facility.

Q2. For Cable/TV, can we utilize YouTube TV as a replacement to save money? We can utilize Smart TV and Wireless connection/ Hardwired into the TV itself to provide that connectivity.

A2. YouTube TV is unacceptable. We are not calling for streaming services. We require the ability to view local new broadcasts.

Q3. Are we going to utilize the current network devices onsite for this project or supply a new network infrastructure.

Note: To obtain speeds, the throughput of the Firewall needs to be able to handle the speeds. The same goes for the rest of the Network. Switches and access points need to be able to handle the multi-Gbps speeds.

A3. New network devices will be required; use of existing cabling infrastructure of existing Commercial network can be used.

Q4. For switch ports, how many is needed to be supplied? How many client connections are needed in the network?

A4. 24 ports per closet, 4 Closets

Q5. For Access Points, Is there a map of the location, to perform a heat map to verify the Access point count needed?

Note: Any Concrete rooms will degrade the performance of wireless infrastructure.

A5. There are no concrete rooms… this facility was built to DoD constructions post 9/11 so it has a double layer of chicken wire on the exterior. Standard floorplan is provided; see both Attachment 3 - Floorplan (lower level) and Attachment 4 - Floorplan (upper level). The government is unable to provide a heat map.

Q6. Can we provide a secondary failover ISP WAN connection?

A6. That is not a requirement in the scope.
