10TH SF(A) STATEMENT OF WORK

STATEMENT OF WORK

4rd Battalion 10th SFG (A) Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) Event, 10th SFG (A) Fort Carson, Colorado.

1. SCOPE: Contractor shall provide all labor, food, lodging and conference rooms as described in this Statement of Work (SOW). There are no transportation services required for this event. The United States Government’s representatives have already planned these events, therefore event planning services are not required. Registration will be coordinated and accomplished upon arrival to the resort on Friday 11 January 2019. The event will be conducted over a 3 day period from 11 through 13 January 2019 (Friday-Sunday). These weekend events necessitate the procurement of meals, beverages, lodging rooms, training rooms, child training rooms and audio- visual (AV) support. It is anticipated that approximately 15 Service Members, 15 Spouses, 40 children will participate as well as three out of the five 10th SFG (A) POTFF Team members including Chaplain, MFLC, and a BH provider. The POTFF team members will arrive Friday morning. Soldiers and their Families will arrive Friday afternoon. All parties will depart Sunday morning. The resort shall provide an on-site representative from the time the 10th SFG (A) POTFF team arrives until the departure of the POTFF team.

1.1. BACKGROUND: This SOW applies to the POTFF event schedule for 11-13 January 2019. The Group has identified three areas of need that focus on improvement or enable success across the force: 1) increase initial contact with families on assignment to Group, 2) formalize and expand the reception, orientation and welcoming of Families to Group and 3) implement a mentorship program for Team and Section Sergeants to enhance their ability to identify problems and leverage existing resources to more effectively support our Soldiers and Families. This event, and the ones to follow, will focus on the holistic support to the Family, including the Soldier. In training and supporting the Family, the stress and pressure on the Soldier will be reduced. The 10th SFG (A) is investing funds and time into this program knowing that it will yield great results in preserving the overall force. This training on 11-13 January 2019 explicitly meets the intent of the POAM justification by training SM’s and Families on the pillars of POTFF to include Spiritual Performance, Psychological Performance, and Social Performance of the Operator and Family. Each pillar will be trained by a 10th SFG (A) SME in each field providing a holistic training approach. This event falls into the approved POAM training category of Holistic Performance Optimization Training.
