As of 31 March 2017

Questions:

1. Would the Owner consider delaying the opening of this project 30 minutes, to 1500 on 19 April, 2017?

Answer: No, see typical section for requirements

9. The aggregate shoulder material and base aggregate are respectively noted as “Millings“ and “(RAP)(Install Only)”. Is the Government going to furnish the RAP? On-site? If not on-site, where is the Government stockpile?

Answer: Government shall make available quantities in excess of milled sections.

10. Please confirm the stationing listed on the two notes of Plan Sht. 11 is correct.

Answer: Station 171+20 and 177+61. Revised plans shall be issued.

11. The typical cross section of the existing roadway is not uniform. The surface may require that the

Contractor deviate from the 5” of new asphalt at centerline and 2” overlay at the shoulders in order to achieve a 2% cross-slope. What is the controlling factor in the new pavement section? What tolerances are allowable to achieve the 2% cross slope?

Answer: Yes, you may deviate from the 5” and 2” thickness to achieve a 2% cross slope. Maintain a minimum 2” along the shoulder of the roadways.
