Fire Truck Painting Services Q&A

1. What decals are needed and do you have examples of them, or a current picture of the fire truck with decals needed?

RESPONSE: Currently, there are no fire trucks on hand for pictures. The PWS states to remove decals only. It is expected that the contractor remove all trim, paint, clear coat, install new door seals and insulate the engine cab.

2. What is the current condition of the fire truck; is there any current damage, dents, dings, or rust?

RESPONSE: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) does not know the current condition. The fire trucks are being pulled from active service at fire stations. RRAD will make majority of welding repairs. If something is missed that needs to be repaired prior to painting, the contractor will make the repair prior to painting. There may be some fill work around the lighting mount areas that will be noted on the vehicles.

3. What is the model number and year of the truck?

RESPONSE: The manufacture and model number of the fire trucks are listed in the PWS; if there is no model number then the VIN number is listed. The year of the fire truck is from 1995 to 1999.

5. Are the fire trucks operational or do the need to be picked up on a flatbed?

RESPONSE: The fire trucks will need to be picked up and dropped off on a flatbed truck.
