About this file

This is a Question and Answer document dated February 27, 2025 for solicitation W911QY-25-R-0006, which addresses vendor questions regarding the procurement of IF1200A Hexacopter drones.

The document contains two questions from potential vendors asking if the government would consider alternative UAS systems to the IF1200 or accept quotes for different NDAA-compliant platforms. The government's response to both questions is negative, citing regulatory restrictions governing DoD UAS procurement that limit technically acceptable submissions to only the IF1200 UAS system in the configuration specified in the List of Salient Characteristics document. The government clarifies that while NDAA compliance is necessary, it alone does not guarantee a UAS will meet government requirements.

Question and Answer Document

W911QY-25-R-0006

27 February 2025

Q 1. Would the Government consider alternative UASs to the IF1200, which completely meet the Government’s requirements ?

A 1. No. Due to regulatory restrictions governing the approval of the procurement and use of UASs by DoD, the Government can only consider as technically acceptable the IF1200 UAS system in the configuration specified in the List of Salient Characteristics document.

Q 2. Would the Government be willing to accept a quote for a different NDAA platform made in Bozeman, MT?

A 2. No. NDAA compliance is a necessary requirement but does not itself guarantee the UAS will be sufficient for the Government need. Due to regulatory restrictions governing the approval of the procurement and use of UASs by DoD, the Government can only consider as technically acceptable the IF1200 UAS system in the configuration specified in the List of Salient Characteristics document.
