QUESTIONS and ANSWERS

1. Will they need a teach pendant? If yes, do they need a standard safety teach pendant or a 3-Position Enabling Device (3PE) version?

Answer: The robot arm needs to be programmable and controllable, a teach pendant is one way to program a robot arm. Vendors are encouraged to provide systems with features that enhance or simplify programming and control.

2. Is there a minimum length of cable between the robot and its controller box? Like 6 m or 12 m long?

Answer: A minimum cable length has not been specified, but 6 meters would be sufficient.

3. What are the expectations for robot support and after sales service? Would special support be required for integration, or a service plan for the maintenance of the robot?

Answer: Quotes should include a service plan as a line item.

4. Would there be an expectation to support during integration of the robot, if yes, would this be supporting a team in MD or in NY?

Answer: Vendors can include in-person installation in Maryland and support as a line item.
