About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for solicitation W911QX25Q0106, issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contract Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Q&A addresses a specific technical specification question regarding Table 2 of the solicitation, which requires a 16-foot optical table. The specific clarification confirms that the table must be a monolithic structure and cannot be two 8-foot tables bolted together.

The underlying solicitation seeks two laboratory tables with distinct specifications: Table 1 is a 4 ft x 10 ft x 12 in industrial-grade optical table, and Table 2 is a 5 ft x 16 ft x 12 in educational-grade optical table. Both tables have specific technical requirements including 20-1/4 in holes, 23.5 in tall standard insolators with automatic leveling, four rigid legs with 8000 lb max load capacity, tuned mass dampers, sealed hole tiles, and a triple core trussed design. Delivery will include shipping and handling to White Sands Missile Range (WSMR).

Please see the below questions (in black) and respective answers (in red)

1. Can table #2 consist of 2 shorter tables (8 ft?) which are bolted together using a structural adapter to join them together? Or does it need to be a monolithic structure for the full 16 ft dimension?

a. It needs to be monolithic, in this case. Two table bolted wont do.
