About this file

This document outlines technical requirements for a federal contract to provide custom gears, shafts, and bearings. The contractor must design a gear system meeting specific load and bearing requirements, including equivalent radial loads, rotational speeds, and an L1 bearing life of 1% failure rate within 2500 service hours. Materials, dimensions, and interface standards are provided for gears, shafts, splines and bearings. The contractor must deliver two sets each of 24 gears, 18 shafts, and 36 bearings. The related solicitation is a small business set-aside issued by the Department of the Army to acquire these items for delivery to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
