E. Pneumatic Test Duration shall be two (2) hours.
F. Pneumatic Pressure Test PSIG
a. For piping operating less than 100 psig it is permissible to conduct the leak test using operating pressure. Document pressure on test report.
b. For piping operating over 100 psig a pneumatic test pressure of 150 psig shall be used. Document pressure on test report.
c. If leaks are found, pressure shall be vented, appropriate repair or replacement shall be completed, and the pneumatic test repeated until no leakage is found.
Prepare and deliver test reports to the COR.
G. Inspection shall consist of visual examination during or after manufacture, fabrication, assembly, or pressure tests.
H. This inspection shall include nitrogen pressure test, at which time the gas piping shall stand a pressure of not less than 25% of the components rated operational pressure. If the low-pressure testing is successful, the pressure shall then be gradually increased to test if the system will maintain its integrity at higher pressure. Test pressures shall be held for a length of time satisfactory to the COR, but in no case less than 2 hours with no perceptible drop in pressure
I. The piping system shall withstand the test pressure specified without showing evidence of leakage or other defects. Reduction of test pressures as indicated by pressure gauges shall be deemed to indicate the presence of a leak unless such reduction is readily attributed to some other cause.
J. The leakage shall be located by means of an approved gas detector, a noncorrosive leak detection fluid, or other approved leak detection process. Methods that provide a source of ignition shall not be used.
K. Where repairs or additions are made following the pressure test, the affected piping shall be re-tested. Minor repairs and additions are not required to be pressure-tested provided that the work is inspected and connections are tested with a noncorrosive leak-detecting fluid or other leak-detecting methods approved by the COR.
