About this file
This file contains Request for Information (RFI) responses and clarifications related to a structural steel flooring system fabrication and installation project at Watervliet Arsenal in New York. The responses address five key questions submitted by potential contractors regarding site pictures, equipment drawings, material specifications, storage space, and facility access during construction.
Key clarifications from the RFI responses include: site visit photographs and scaled equipment drawings are available in the ATTACHMENTS section on SAM.gov; diamond plate is the preferred material specification for metal plates; contractors will have limited storage space for toolboxes and potentially a forklift; and contractors will have access to restrooms, water, and power during work execution. The solicitation (W911PT26QA066) requires design, materials, fabrication, assembly, installation, inspection, quality control, and testing of a new structural steel flooring system to support manufacturing equipment, specifically a LA-1050 Top Loading oven measuring 69" x 97" x 60" and weighing 5,865 lbs. The contract is a small business set-aside with a firm fixed-price award expected for work valued between $25,000 and $100,000, with a 90-day performance period from Notice to Proceed. The extended response deadline is May 11, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. EST. Payment and Performance bonds (100%) are required, and New York wage rates (NY2 determination) apply.
