About this file

This document contains responses to industry questions regarding a federal solicitation for traffic signal installation work. The solicitation seeks bids to install a complete traffic control system at the intersection of Clear Creek and Old Ironsides/Hell on Wheels in Fort Hood, Texas. The scope of work includes traffic control devices, pedestrian control devices, electric service, pavement markings, ADA curb ramps, and slurry seal of all pavement within the construction limits.

Key clarifications provided in the document include confirming slurry seal is required rather than seal coat, extending the completion time to 300 days due to pole procurement lead times, and requirements to remove all existing thermoplastic markings within the construction limits. Bidders were also advised to obtain pricing for electric service from the local utility, Dominion, and include it in their bid. Additional questions regarding signage, detection equipment, conduit, grounding, and controller requirements were answered with references to revised contract drawings.
