2. CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANACE SPECIFICATION

(1) Work Flow

(2) General matters by Construction (pouring work) Phase

1) Pouring work General matters for pouring work stipulate ones concerning material confirmation, surface preparation, pouring, and finishing. Air pollution, water quality problem, noise, odor, and discharge of harmful substances should be fully considered. In the case of the urethane binder, it should not be buried when the humidity of the pouring work environment is 85% or more. When the surface temperature is 5°C or less or 40°C or higher, it should not be covered.

2) Material Confirmation The transaction details should be checked to ensure that the manufacturer's products suitable for the design specification are delivered correctly. Materials must be brought in according to the design volume.

3) Defect Management The base layer (slab) must be a concrete structure and there should be no water ponding. A water collecting pipe or drainage pipe must be installed at the bottom, connected to the sewer pipe, and a shock absorbing floor material shall be laid, and the surface slope of the concrete layer (slab) shall be suitable for Table 1.

Table 1. Slope of Concrete Layer (slab)

ITEM STANDARD

SLOPE (%) Min. 2.0

Be sure to check the curing of the concrete surface and remove all foreign substances (weeds, fallen leaves, dust, soil, etc.) that can cause important defects in rubber pouring work. The concrete surface must be checked whether it is on the slope and thickness, and if there are problems, consult with an engineer, and check the matters to be taken.

4) Primer Coat After the concrete surface preparation, the urethane primer should be uniformly coated using a roller or an air spray.

The amount of urethane primer coating should be within 0.3kg/m2±3%. This work may be omitted according to the pouring method.

5) Mix Rubber Chip of Lower Layer & Urethane Binder After the concrete surface preparation, the urethane primer should be uniformly coated using a roller or an air spray.

The amount of urethane primer coating should be within 0.3kg/m2±3%. This work may be omitted according to the pouring method.

6) Construction & Compaction of Lower Layer Primer is coated on the concrete layer (pad) and the lower layer is poured before the primer is cured. The mixed material is uniformly covered to be equal to or greater than the minimum thickness specified in the drawing before curing. The roller is 10 kg or more, and the surface temperature of the roller is 160°C or less in summer and 200°C or less in winter. If it is impossible to construct the entire area a day, cut the junction by about 3 cm the next day and continue construction.

7) First Curing After all work is completed, people, etc., are controlled from entering the construction site and have a curing period of more than 24 hours.

8) Construction of Urethane Binder In order to increase the adhesive strength of the upper and lower layers, binder work is conducted before construction of the upper layer. Construct in the same way as primer pouring work.

9) Mix Rubber Chip of Upper Layer & Urethane Binder The mixing is sufficiently stirred so that the entire surface of the rubber chip can be coated with the urethane binder with a cylindrical low-speed stirrer by properly mixing the dry rubber chip and the urethane binder in a mixing ratio.

* Upper layer mixing ratio (rubber powder: urethane binder = 100:20 or more)

10) Construction & Compaction of Upper Layer Primer is coated on the lower layer and the upper layer is poured before the primer is cured. Make sure the surface is flat as a whole and the corners are not sharp. Make sure that there are no significant defects in appearance, such as bending, twisting, swelling, cracking, tearing, or defects. Make sure that the color is uniform without any color. However, those for patterns are excluded. Make sure that there is no separation between the rubber flooring material, the boundary curbs, and the adhesion surface to the playground equipment.
