AMENDMENT NARRATIVE 0002

The purpose of Amendment 0002 is to publish additional questions and answers.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Q6. In the past, Rock Island Arsenal would do their own rigging, remove the machine from the truck and set onto the floor. Would that be the case here, or would we be responsible for bringing in a local rigger?

A6. Per section 6.2.7 of the Flat Laser Solicitation, the contractor can choose to have RIA be responsible for rigging the equipment. This just needs to be identified.

Q7. In the past, we have been asked to be responsible for purchasing and hooking up bulk gas tanks, air compressors and dryer systems. I do not see any items like this in this proposal. Is that correct?

A7. We currently have a 6000 gallon bulk nitrogen system outside of the building that provides any nitrogen needs equipment located within the building. Currently there are (5) C02 Flat lasers utilizing this system as well as a C02 tube laser. Other than that, smaller laser cutting systems may also utilize the nitrogen system. The contractor will be responsible for connecting to the "point of first connection" as defined by the RIPD. Other bulk gas systems for the building include a 3000 gallon oxygen tank and a 1500 gallon argon tank. If the equipment requires compressed air then those components need to be provided. In Section 3.2.22 you will find specifications for air drying equipment.

Q8. In the document it specifies that the Arsenal shall provide labor and materials to connect utilities to each point of first connection of the system. The supplier will be responsible for all connections beyond this point. We would request that the terminals are connected to all primary pieces to the respected equipment. Is this acceptable or should we hire an electrician for this portion?

A8. RIA-JMTC will only be responsible for the utility connections to the point of first connection. If this is an issue it can be listed as a non-compliance on the RIPD and then the government will evaluate further.

Q9. The dust collector is a little bit over 10' for the standard unit. For a unit with a 55 gallon drum - it will be approx. 14' to 15'. Are either of these acceptable? Or we can also offer lower unit.

A9. This should be listed as a non-compliance as well as the alternatives and then the government can evaluate further. Non-compliances that provide compliant alternatives are considered to be compliant.

Q10. Do you have a list of local vendors for rigging, electical, etc.

A10. We do not.

END OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.
