DATED 8 OCTOBER 2015

The contractor is expected to perform heat treating on two (2) individual part numbers, IAW Drawings for PN 7070851 Revision J, Note 3 and 7070704 Revision G, Note 5. Hardening of surfaces marked only (1/16" +1/8") 0.0625" +0.125" deep to Rockwell C 55 minimum per SPEC MIL-S-12515 (except soft spot between start and stop not to exceed 1/2 inch). The contractor will need to achieve the in-process depth requirements of 0.122-0.247" with HRC 55 Min to include 0.060" stock for finish machining. The Government will provide two (2) of each part at no charge for process set up and destructive testing required for process verification.

The contractor will perform a magnetic particle inspection on all parts after hardening. The inspection shall be in accordance with SPEC.MIL-M-11472 or Dye Penetrate Inspect, MIL-1-6866. The Government’s target process dimension prior to heat treat is 0.010” Out of Round, with parts not exceeding 0.015” OOR. The Government will not accept hardened parts with cracks, or out of round conditions exceeding 0.040”. The Government will require a Certified Test Report (CTR) containing the Rockwell Hardness and Magnetic Particle Inspection results for each part processed.

The Government will provide the contractor quantities between 10-175 EA of both parts (20-350 total) per month. Shipments will be incremental with no more than three shipments per month, however, it is anticipated one shipment per month. RIA- JMTC’s production ramp-up is planned as follows:
