Questions and answers for the light weight, drop side, rail deck, gooseneck trailer W900KK-16-T-0009 solicitation:
1. Question: The specs do not call for a drop side rail trailer. Can we clarify the main beam size and side rail size?
a. Answer: The SD stands for side drop rail deck which is some 7" lower than the main I beams (22") which gets the loaded height down to 15.5" as needed. The criteria is to get at the lowest loaded height, as light weight as possible and still provide a 42.5 ton capacity within an 16' concentrated area.
2. Question: How many axles is the trailer supposed to have, how many fixed axles and how many flip axles are there supposed to be?
a. Answer: Two fixed and one flip/removal.
3. Question: Does the ‘rail deck’ refer to the ability to load rail cars?
a. Answer: No it does not.
