About this file
This document is an Amendment of Solicitation (Standard Form 30) for a linen and laundry services contract at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WAMC). The solicitation seeks a contractor to provide daily pickup and return of bulk linen (Monday-Friday), dry cleaning services 3 days per week, and processing of items including sheets, blankets, towels, pillowcases, cubicle/privacy curtains, lab coats, and dietary uniforms. The contract is for a 12-month base period with an option to extend services for six months, with an estimated annual volume of 1,080,000 pounds of laundry.
Key performance requirements include 95% compliance for pickup and delivery, with no more than 2 valid complaints per month, and 100% compliance for specific areas such as contractor training, contingency planning, and test piece service laboratory. The current vendor is Halifax Linen, and WAMC owns the linen. The solicitation amendment extends the closing date to 27 August 2025 at 1400 PM, and requires contractors to provide separate rates for bulk laundry and dry cleaning services. The hospital has a 48-bed capacity and expects approximately 200 curtains per month at 4.7 pounds each for dry cleaning.
