Solicitation W56HZV-21-R-L041 Fort Riley 1st Infantry Division Museum Fabrication & Installation Responses to Vendor Questions
1. Please confirm that the Exhibit Fabricator is responsible for purchase and installation of exhibit track lighting.
ANSWER: All track lighting for both museums shall be purchased and installed by the contractor. Please see Attachment 005 Track Lighting Specs (1st Infantry Division) or Attachment 010 US CAV Track Lighting Specs. These attachments have been added in the attachments section.
2. Design 1st Floor. Do the cases on the 1st floor include lighting like the ones on the 2nd floor as shown on page X20.106? If yes, please define the requirements and quantities – page X0.104 doesn’t show case lighting.
Comment by Cole, Meika J CIV USARMY ACC (USA): Please review to ensure that the language in the answers section is to your preference.
ANSWER: The cases do require lighting. Please refer to AME Design Package 1st Floor, page 8, X0.104. While there is no change made to the drawing(s), a supplement for this page(s) has been added in the attachment section for more detail specific to this question.
3. Design, 1st Floor page X1.200 has notes saying indirect LED up lighting is in DWH scope. Same for spotlight sconces. Please define DWH.
ANSWER: This note on the drawings is a mistake. This is part of the contractor’s work. Please refer to AME Design Package 1st Floor, page 14 X1.200. While there is no change made to the drawing(s), a supplement for this page(s) has been added in the attachment section for more detail specific to this question.
4. Design, 1st Floor pages X0.002 & X3.100. The notes for AV03 says the speaker is activated/coordinated with the trench area lighting program. Where can we find details on this lighting and programming requirements?
ANSWER: This display will feature flashes synced to audio of guns firing and shells landing. Equipment to create this is listed on sheet. Please refer to AME Design Package 1st Floor, page 3, X0.002. While there is no change made to the drawing(s), a supplement for this page(s) has been added in the attachment section for more detail specific to this question.
5. Design, 1st Floor, page X6.100. Case C16.2 is very large to be an acrylic vitrine that gets lifted over display object/artifacts and is further complicated by its location in a corner of the wall which prevents access from opposing sides for lifting. Do you have an alternate solution for this case or want to include a lift to place the vitrine? If yes on the lift, please provide a spec.
ANSWER: It is not expected that this diorama will need to be moved but it has been re-detailed to use casters instead of levelers. Please refer to AME Design Package 1st Floor, page 50, X6.300; AME Design Package 1st Floor page 48, X6.206; and AME Design Package 2nd Floor page 258 for the detail. While there is no change made to the drawing(s), a supplement for this page(s) has been added in the attachment section for more detail specific to this question.
6. Design, 2nd Floor, page X27.100. The mannequin/body form for MG Mayville in case C27.8 is not identified or called out in the design drawing, artifact list or prop/mannequin list. Please define any scope the exhibit fabricator has for this figure.
ANSWER: This figure should be called out as a Dorfman conservation form. This is labeled as C.1. You can find this in AME Design Package 2nd Floor, page 248; AME Design Package 1st Floor, page 48 X6.206; AME Design Package 2nd Floor page 37 X27.100; and AME Design Package 2nd Floor, page 44 X27.304. While there is no change made to the drawing(s), a supplement for this page(s) has been added in the attachment section for more detail specific to this question
**Note. A second Dorfman conservation form is shown on the plans but is not marked. This form is in case C27.4 and is labeled C.2. This should also be purchased by the contractor. The corrected sheets for this are p248 first floor design package, and sheet X27.100 Version 003 16 July 2021
