Question #1
Under CLIN A002, per CDRL A002, there is a Radioactive Wipe test results requirement.
Section E.6 describes the radioactive materials and procedure for testing.
We do not see any radioactive materials in the TDP that would require a test nor any testing that would indicate the presence of radioactive material.
Could you please clarify the application of this test related to this solicitation and the manufacturing and testing of the .5 Blank Firing Attachment?
ANSWER:
The requirement for CDRL A002 has been removed from the solicitation.
Question #2
On drawing 13046737 (Basic Issue Items), there is an item with no NSN assigned to it.
This item refers to a maintenance manual P/N: TM-9-1005-314-12&P.
Is this item delivered to the customer electronically or printed?
ANSWER:
The Government provides the TMs to the contractor with the BFA for overpack.
Question #3:
Regarding maintenance Manual P/N: TM-9-1005-314-12&P above.
We have done some research and have found electronic copies available over the internet. We downloaded a version from April 1981.
We don’t know if these copies are current.
Is there a source where to obtain these manuals? What revision or edition is acceptable?
ANSWER:
The Government provides the TMs to the contractor with the BFA for overpack.
Question #4:
"We can manufacture this assembly but cannot perform the Functional Testing required. The testing involves attaching the assembly to the M2 and firing blank cartridges.
Is there anyway DEVCOM can perform the testing for us? We could pay DEVCOM.
Another alternative would be to change the solicitation to have Government testing versus contractor testing.
Any help or guidance you can provide would be much appreciated. There are probably several small businesses like ours that would bid on the opportunity if the Government can help with the functional testing.”
ANSWER:
No, the Government will not perform the Functional Testing Required. The FAT is contractor testing. Any costs associated with the FAT should be included in the FAT CLIN price.
Question #5:
