CONTRACTOR: General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS)
PROJECT TITLE: System Integration Study for Stryker High Voltage Power
START DATE: TBD
COMPLETION DATE: 7 months after WD award
OBJECTIVE: The objective of Level of Effort (LOE) Work Directive (WD) 001 is for the contractor to perform a system integration study of the integration of the following high voltage power electronics systems into the Stryker vehicle: electric fan, fan controller, two DC-DC converters, hydraulic pump, transmission integrated generator, generator controller, and power export connector. These systems will increase the power generation capability of the vehicle and shall be integrated in a way that maintains current vehicle functions, the full operation of current vehicle systems, and available crew space. The tasks performed under this WD shall result in a 3-D model layout of the Stryker vehicle integration and repackaging of electrified auxiliary automotive systems previously installed in the crew compartment under the TARDEC Advanced Propulsion with Onboard Power (APOP) project (refer to effort under W56HZV-16-D-0037/0001) in a more production representative manner.
1. TASKS. The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
Task 1: The contractor shall provide the following program support for a system integration study of the integration of specific high voltage power electronic systems into the Stryker vehicle:
Task 1.1: Using Computer Aided Design (CAD), the contractor shall integrate the following CAD high voltage power electronic components: electric fan, fan controller, two DC-DC converters, hydraulic pump, transmission integrated generator, generator controller, and power export connector, into the CAD model of the Stryker vehicle engine compartment. During CAD integration, the contractor shall maintain existing (1) crew space in the vehicle and (2) external footprint of the vehicle.
Task 1.2: The CAD virtual layout outlined in Task 1.1 above shall include any wiring, plumbing, and brackets necessary to support the components integration into a Stryker vehicle.
Task 1.3: The contractor shall analyze any expected impacts of the new packaging integration on the Stryker vehicles performance when existing components are moved or changed.
Task 2: The contractor shall include all results and findings from Task 1, including the details of the system integration study, pictures, and a detailed description of the component layout in the CAD vehicle model conducted in Task 1.2, in the Draft and Final Technical Report to be delivered in accordance with (IAW) 3.2 below.
2. MEETINGS:
2.1: The contractor shall plan, coordinate, and conduct a Start of Work meeting at the contractor’s facility within 30 days of Work Directive award. The date of the meeting and agenda shall be coordinated and mutually agreed upon by the contractor, COR, and TPOC within 5 days after Work Directive award. The contractor shall deliver meeting minutes and the presentation for this meeting IAW 3.3 below. The contractor shall also deliver an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for this Work Directive at this meeting IAW 3.4 below.
2.2: The contractor shall plan, coordinate, and conduct bi-weekly In-Process Reviews (IPRs), at the contractor’s facility, with the COR and TPOC to review cost, schedule, and performance under this Work Directive. The review date and agenda for each meeting shall be coordinated in advance and mutually agreed upon by the contractor, COR, and TPOC. The first IPR shall be held no later than 2 weeks following the Start of Work meeting (Task 2.1). The contractor shall deliver meeting minutes and presentations for each IPR IAW 3.3 below.
2.3: The contractor shall plan, coordinate, and conduct a Final Review meeting, at the contractor’s facility, within 30 days before the conclusion of this Work Directive. The review date shall be coordinated in advance and mutually agreed upon by the contractor, COR, and TPOC. The contractor shall deliver meeting minutes and the presentation for this meeting IAW 3.3 below.
3. REPORTING/DELIVERABLES REQUIREMENTS:
3.1 The contractor shall deliver the CAD virtual layout of the proposed high voltage power electronics system integration, developed in Task 1, to the COR no later than 6 months after Work Directive award IAW CDRL A007 in a format compatible with the existing TARDEC Pro-Engineer CAD.
3.2 The contractor shall deliver the Draft Technical Report, containing the results and findings of the system integration study conducted under Task 1, no later than 6 months after WD award and Final Technical Report no later than 7 months after WD award IAW CDRL A003.
3.3 The contractor shall deliver meeting minutes and presentations for the Start of Work meeting (2.1), IPRs (2.2), and Final Review meeting (2.3) IAW CDRLs A001 and A005, respectively.
3.4 The contractor shall deliver an IMS for this Work Directive at the Start of Work meeting (2.1) IAW CDRL A009.
4. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED INFORMATION:
4.1 The COR will provide measurements or models of the following systems to the contractor no later than 7 days after WD award, to allow for inclusion in the integration study IAW the tasks above: Vehicle Controller, DC-DC Converter, Generator, Generator Inverter, Cooling Pumps, Electric Fan, Fan Controller, Hydraulic Power Unit, Electronics Radiator, and J1772 Connector.
