About this file
This document includes a Request for Information and notice of an upcoming Industry Day event for an Appliance Repair Services contract opportunity in Europe. The Department of Defense is seeking input on managing appliance repair services at Army garrisons in Germany, Benelux, and Italy. Responses to the RFI questions are due by January 13, 2020 and should not exceed 25 pages. An Industry Day will be held on January 22, 2020 at Sembach Kaserne, Germany to provide an overview of requirements and for vendors to briefly present their capabilities. One-on-one meetings between vendors and the government will also be available on January 23-24, 2020 for further discussion. The RFI seeks vendors' views on various aspects of the potential contract such as management approach, pricing structure, database systems, repair timelines, spare parts handling, and more. The goal is to obtain input to help define requirements for a future solicitation for appliance repair services across multiple locations in Europe.

Loaner kits are provided for personnel awaiting delivery of their personally owned HHGs or when departing personnel ship their HHGs during PCS Loaner kits provide only essential furniture on a 90 day loan basis in lieu of providing continued Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA)/Temporary Quarters Subsistence Expense (TQSE) Loaner kits support readiness by allowing members and families to settle into a homes sooner after their arrival TLA/TQSE is expensive; loaner kits have been proven to save Army dollars
The furnishings management program supports the Army’s commitment to quality living conditions for all personnel Program includes furniture and appliance management for the Unaccompanied Housing (UH), Family Housing (FH), General Officer Quarters (GOQ) Differences in European homes, power, lack of closets etc.
Duration of Tour Items are authorized to members in foreign OCONUS locations and are intended to supplement the members’ household goods Appliances are normally provided in foreign OCONUS locations due to weight limitations and the utility differences in CONUS
