About this file
This document provides clarification responses to questions on solicitation W52P1J-22-Q-3060 for FT Hood Railroad Materials. The solicitation requests 139 pieces of 80 foot rail classed as CLIN 0001, with no shorts allowed. Other items may have longer lead times to coincide with the Q2 2023 lead time required for the rail due to domestic mill backlogs. The order does not need to be awarded to a single supplier and will consider bids for individual line items. While the synopsis form stated a due date of September 27th for bids, questions were answered clarifying this as the acceptable due date. The solicitation is from the Department of the Army Materiel Command Joint Munitions Command for railroad materials to support operations at Fort Hood.

Clarification / Responses on Solicitation Questions For W52P1J-22-Q-3060 ‘Ft Hood Railroad Materials’
Question 1:
The rail description (CLIN 0001) reads as though no shorts will be allowed, as it calls for 139 pcs. 80 foot. Is this correct, or can we offer 80 foot lengths with 10 % shorts?
Response 1:
On CLIN 0001 - no shorts allowed
Question 2:
Domestic mills have been very backed up for a while and we will be quoting the rail with a lead time of Q2, 2023 - with the rail that far out, is it still important to quote other items with delivery in early October, as requested? Or could we offer all line items with longer lead times? Lead time may affect price point, and that's why I ask.
Response 2:
Other items may have longer lead times as long as it coincides with rail.
Question 3:
When awarding this bid package, will all line items be awarded to the same supplier? (All or nothing?) Or will you be considering each line item separately and awarding individually?
Response 3:
Does not have to be all in one will consider other vendors.
Question 4:
Lastly, I had this bid marked as due tomorrow, 9/22/22, at 5:00 Central Time - via Email. However, I see on the Synopsis Solicitation form, snipped in below, that the due date is clearly stated as 5:00 pm on the 27th. Would you kindly clarify for us?
Response 4:
27 Sept. 2022 is acceptable
