The purpose of Amendment 0001 to Solicitation W52P1J-20-R-0004 is for the following:

FROM: Department of Defense (DOD) has entered into an agreement with Department of Energy (DOE) regarding its receipt of Low Level
Radioactive Waste (LLRW) from DU munitions. Transfer of these assets occurs at the disposal facility and enables the use of the Federal
Waste cell vs. Commercial Waste cell. Under this agreement the DOD is still responsible for all costs associated through disposal but receives a cost savings by using the Federal Cell and transfers final liability back to DOE. If interested, offeror's are encouraged to contact DOE to see if similar arrangements can be made concerning the disposal of DU munitions LLRW.

TO: Department of Defense (DOD) is working an agreement with Department of Energy (DOE) regarding its receipt of Low Level Radioactive
Waste (LLRW) from DU munitions. Transfer of these assets occurs at the disposal facility and enables the use of the Federal Waste cell
vs. Commercial Waste cell. Under this agreement the contractor is still responsible for all costs associated through disposal but receives a cost savings by using the Federal Cell and transfers final liability back to DOE. Disposal costs shall be included in the offeror's proposal no matter if the offeror decides to use the Federal Waste cell at WCS Texas or not. However, it is anticipated that using the Federal Cell would be a significant cost savings and this is anticipated to be reflected in the offeror's proposal. If interested, offeror's are encouraged to contact Waste Control Specialists (WCS) Texas to see if their process(es) will fit into this agreement.
