The following have been added by full text:
AMENDMENT 0002
The purpose of this amendment is to:
1. Answer contractor questions
2. Provide revised attachment B plans for the Building 211 roof entitled PR2006-0669 repair roof
BLDG 211, Attachment B revised plans dated 1-17-19
3. Provide photos of Building 211 roof as follows: 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg and 5.jpg
Q1. On pages 5 and 6 of the solicitation, offer, and award it lists the Base Bid, Bid Option 1, Bid Option 2, and Bid Option 3. At each line it states NET AMT. Would Bid Option 1 be a combined price of Base Bid and Bid Option 1 or would it be the added price?
A1. Bid Option 1 is not a combined price with Base Bid. Bid the Base Bid as the Base Bid work is prescribed. Bid the Bid Option 1 as that work as an added price. Each requirement should be proposed on seperately.
Q2. Refer to question 1. For Bid Options 2 and 3 would those be combined prices for Base Bid, and Bid Option 1 respectively or added prices?
A2. Bid Options 2 and 3 are not combined prices for the Base Bid or Bid Option 1 respectively. Each bid item should be proposed on seperately.
Q3. Bid Options 2 and 3 are for the installation of an additional layer of 3” polyisocyanurate insulation. Since the base bid is 2 layers of 1” ISO and we would add 3” which equals 5” total, would you want two (2) layers of 2.5” for those bid options?
A3. Insulation must be installed in two layers. How the contractor accomplishes this task is at their discretion as long as it is in accordance with the Scope of Work. Please note the base bid is for a minimum of 3” of polyiso insulation. See sheet notes A-102 and A-104.
Q4. General Roofing Note 6 on page G-005 states the use of ½” gypsum fiber board by Securerock. To meet the 30 year 99mph wind speed warranty, which is stated on the same page under Warranty Note 3, 5/8” Securerock would be required.
A4. Please re-read General Roofing Notes #6 carefully. #6 states as follows: “PROVIDE MANUFACTURER’S
APPROVED COVER BOARD AND/OR COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR THE PRESCRIBED 30 YEAR NO
DOLLAR LIMIT WARRANTY. IF THE MANUFACTURER DOESN’T HAVE A PREFERRED COVER
BOARD THEN PROVIDE THE DESIGN BASIS. DESIGN BASIS: ½” GYPSUM-FIBER ROOF BOARD BY
USG SECUROCK BRAND.”
This note calls for a cover board only if the manufacturer does not have a prescribed cover board listed for the required 30 year warranty.
Q5. General Roofing Note 9 on page G-005 states the use of 25psi Polyiso Insulation. 25psi Polyiso insulation would be required for a 30 year 55mph warranty if the membrane was to be adhered directly to it. Since a gypsum cover board, 5/8” thick is required to meet the 30 year 99mph warranty, is being installed over the Polyiso Insulation it would not be a requirement to use 25psi Polyiso Insulation. Would you consider the use of standard 20psi Polyiso Insulation as a cost savings alternate?
A5. Provide the 25psi Polyiso
Q6. On Drawings A-101, A-102, A-103 and A-104 there are multiple section details around each roof. The section detail D2 on A-501 is a demolition detail related to only the exterior parapet walls. This demolition detail is shown
W52P1J19R5001 on both the New Work Plans on A-102 and A-104. That detail also does not correlate with the expansion walls on the interior portions of the roofs. There are many demolition and new work details on A-501 and A-502 but they do not reference anything back to the roof plans. Many of the demolition and new work details show complete removal of the existing wood expansions and installation of new wood expansions, blocking on top of parapets, and on Detail A2 on A-501 it shows that there isn’t any wood. Could you please clarify the details and assign the details to the applicable areas?
A6. Keynotes on plans were revised and edited. Be advised details may be called out with keynote text.
Q7. On Drawing A-102 I am finding keynotes that don’t appear to apply to where they are shown on the drawing.
For example, Keynote 7 is for the installation of new Miro roller type pipe supports but the drawing is showing them along the parapet and expansions. The same applies to Drawing A-104 for other keynotes.
A7. Keynotes on plans were revised and edited.
Q8. On Drawing A-102 Keynote 8 it states that saddles are to be installed to the top of 3” base insulation.
Referencing back to SheetNote 1 and it states 2” of insulation. Please clarify.
A8. Sheet note 1 states 2” of insulation. Keynotes on plans were revised and edited.
Q9. On Drawing A-102 Keynote 2 it states the minimum 1/8:12 saddles are to slope to the new drains. Keynote 8 states ¼:12. Is it the intent that we are to install 1/8:12 sumps around the drains with ¼:12 saddles between the drains? If that is the case how big do you want the sumps to be? If 2” of insulation is the base layer we could go 12’ max which would leave ½” of insulation at the drain. If we went 4’ out from the drains then that would leave 1-1/2” of insulation at the drain. Please clarify.
A9. Keynotes on plans were revised and edited.
Q10. Keynote 16 on A-501 states the installation of a new 2x pressure treated wood on top of the parapets. Is it believed that there isn’t any wood there now or are we to remove what is there and install new?
A10. See demolition detail D2/A-501.
Q11. Are there any other masonry specifications other than those on A-102 keynote 10?
A11. There are no masonry specifications.
Q12. Does the painting scope only include the portion above the roof stated, or does the painting scope extend to the corner of the walls?
A12. Painting and concrete work only pertain to the extents of the roofing repairs for Bldg 211. So only the portions of walls above roofing or coping repairs.
All other terms and conditions to include the closing date and time remain unchanged.
