About this file
This document is a special notice for an industry day for the upcoming solicitation for the Rio Puerto Nuevo Flood Control Project, Supplemental Contract 3, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The work for this contract includes widening and deepening the existing channel for flood control by constructing two drilled shaft walls and dredging to the required depth. The walls will be approximately 5,200 feet long with exposed heights ranging from 24 to 31 feet, tied together with a cap beam. The contract also includes a tie-in structure at the Josefina Confluence, a transition to the existing river upstream, and a transition to an existing project at the downstream outlet. Utility relocations and new stormwater inlets are also included. The NAICS code is 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a small business size standard of $45 million. The estimated order of magnitude is between $250 million and $500 million.
The industry day event on December 5, 2024 will include an informative presentation on the scope of work, design information, construction considerations, acquisition timeline, and contracting requirements. One-on-one discussions with USACE personnel will also be offered. Attendees are requested to RSVP by December 2, 2024 and submit any questions through ProjNet by December 6, 2024. All questions and approved answers will be posted on the SAM.gov website.
