About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity W51AA126QA074 regarding Engineering Lab Test Equipment.

The document clarifies the minimum functional configuration required for an attenuator set that TYAD (presumed to be the procuring agency) specified. The required components include: four sets of SMA female-to-male fixed attenuators rated to at least 2W with attenuation values of 1dB, 3dB, 6dB, 10dB, and 20dB covering DC to 18GHz; four sets of N-type female-to-male fixed attenuators with identical specifications; and four sets of variable attenuators rated to at least 2W that collectively cover DC to 18GHz. The procurement explicitly permits the use of adapters, which are required to interface between the attenuators and SMA, N-type, TNC, and BNC connectors in all gender configurations. Storage accommodation for all attenuators and adapters is also mandated as part of the deliverable.

Questions and Answers 2 W51AA126QA074: Engineering Lab Test Equipment

Question 1: will the Government clarify the minimum functional configuration required for the attenuator set by identifying, at a minimum:

• Minimum quantities and attenuation coverage;

• Required fixed and/or variable (or step) attenuator coverage;

• Required connector types and genders;

• Whether SMA, N Type, and TNC must each be represented in both the fixed and variable portions of the set;

• Required power-rating coverage;

• Required frequency coverage by component;

• Whether adapters are acceptable; and

• Whether a fitted storage or carrying case is required?

Answer 1:

TYAD requires the following:

4 sets of SMA female to SMA male fixed attenuators rated to at least 2W offering 1db, 3db, 6db, 10db, and 20db of attenuation from DC to 18GHz

4 sets of N-type female to N-type male fixed attenuators rated to at least 2W offering 1db, 3db, 6db, 10db, and 20db of attenuation from DC to 18GHz

4 sets of variable attenuator offerings rated to at least 2 W to collectively cover DC to 18GHz.

Adapters are acceptable and are required to interface between the attenuators and SMA, N-type, TNC, and BNC in all gender configurations.

Storage to accommodate all attenuators and adapters
