Update Date: 30 AUG 2023

Interface Definitions File Format Count: The number of unique file formats exchanged between FMS-ACES and the external SOR or Agency. Under the legacy system, all interfaces are conducted via file transfer. Future state FMS-ACES will leverage real-time or near real-time interface exchanges to the extent possible.

Interface Type: How information is currently exchanged between the legacy system and external systems and agencies API - Application Programming Interface; provides the capbility for real-time processing FTP - File Transfer Protocol SFTP - Secure File Transfer Protocol

Interface Direction: Indicates the direction in which the information travels. Specifies the sender and receiver of transferred data.

Bi-Directional - both systems in the relationship send and receive data One Way (To XXXX) - information is relayed in only one direction, the receiving system is called out in the parenthesis.

Periodicity: The frequency with which information (file formats) are exchanged between two systems. Interfaces with more than one periodicity indicate different file formats are transferred at different rates.

DLMSDefense Logistics Management StandardsThe Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) are a broad base of business rules designed to meet DoD's requirements for logistics support. The DLMS are developed in collaboration with the Military Departments, Defense Agencies, and participating Federal Agencies to accommodate the old DoD-unique logistics data exchange standards and processes commonly referred to as the "MILS" (Military Standard), plus new information exchange requirements supporting modernization. DLMS transactional exchanges are founded in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) chartered Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 commercial standards and support other emerging electronic business (EB) technologies, such as eXtensible Markup Language (XML).
