QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES W50S9G22Q0010 WHEEL/PARTS WASHER

1. Can you provide the spec for AFOSH STD 48-137?

Response: Dis-regard, if the machine is vented outside it is not applicable.

2. Does this solicitation require the vendor to open a hole in the wall/roof for ventilation?

Response: There is currently no vent in the room where installation is required. Installer will need to cut vent

3. This calls for a minimum 42” turntable…would 41” be acceptable?

Response: Yes

4. Can you provide dimensions of the wheels and bearings that will need to be washed, so we can design the fixturing? How many wheels and bearings should be held on each fixture?

Response: biggest wheel half will be 24x6. Bearings are approx. 6” diameter.

5. Is the rinse meant to be a recirculated rinse or a fresh rinse to drain?

Response: Fresh rinse to drain

6. Is the dry meant to be heated or just an ambient blowoff?

Response: heated

7. The bid states that the power requirement cannot exceed 460V/60Amps

Response: we have 600v 100amp at the room, can get 400 amp pulled closer to by our CE

8. Our standard 48” Rotary Table washer that we build has a 200Amp disconnect. If you don’t have any heaters in the wash, rinse or dry-off cabinet you could potentially get into a 60Amp disconnect, but I would think that you would want heat in these stages to help with cleaning the parts as well as keeping the foaming of the wash solution to a minimum since most cleaning agents require a minimum of 120F to 130F to keep the tank from foaming up too bad.

Thoughts?

Response: We have 600v 100amp at the room, can get 400 amp pulled closer to by our CE.

We want to keep it heated.

9. Our footprint for our standard 48” Rotary Table washer is approximately 98”L x 82”W x 120”H. This is a little larger footprint than the 70”L x 70”W x 95”H. Do you foresee an issue with this size?

Response: The size of the entrance to the room is the limiting factor. Door measurements 124” high by 72” Wide.

10. Are you requiring a mist collector since there is currently no exhaust vent in the roof of your facility?

Response: Requirement includes a vent being cut to install vent leading outside. A mist collector is not required.

11. I see you are stating that the machine needs adequate ventilation, but the room it will go in currently has no exhaust vent. We can provide a steam exhaust on the parts washer itself, but, My question is, are you requiring the installation of a vent in that room, to be provided with this quote or will that be done separately?

Response: Install will require a vent to be added by the installer.

12. Regarding installation, will the utilities, (electricity, and water) already be present in the room in which the parts washer will be installed? We typically would expect that the electrical outlet or disconnect already be present as well as the plumbing. We would then connect the machine to the power supply on the wall and the water hookup to the existing water valve

Response: There is water in the room, and the electrical is just outside the door

13. Regarding the rinse cycle, do you want a recirculating rinse in which the same rinse water is used multiple times, until the operator deems it is necessary to change it? Or do you want a freshwater rinse, in which the parts are rinsed with fresh water every time (the fresh water rinse option would require there to be a drain in the room where the parts washer will be)

Response: We prefer a freshwater rinse. There is a drain in the room.

14. Will there be a floor drain in the room where the parts washer will be?

Response: Yes and it runs to an oil/water separator

15. What is the maximum interior working height required?

Response: 30”

16. What is the maximum weight capacity required?

Response: 200LBS

17. Do you have specifications, drawings, or dimensions for both the wheel mount tree and bearing mount tree?

Response: No drawings, but wheel tree must support a 23.5” dia, split type wheel, one half is 10” deep, other is 6” deep. Bearings are between 4” and 6.25” in diameter.

18) Requesting SDS’s for all cleaning compounds: AIR FORCE TO 4W-1-61 and AF DWG 9825019-21, Calla 296, DSF-1, SB 300 LFM

Response: See attachments for available DS’s (Calla 296 and Super-Bee-300LFM), Will likely be using Calla 296 based on availability through supply system.

19) Mild steel or stainless steel construction?

Response: Stainless

20) Which type of rinse are you requiring:

a. Rinse to overflow. Where fresh rinse water will be sprayed in the cabinet and be added to the wash water and require the overflow be plumbed to a drain. Pressure will be similar to spot free rinse on car wash.

b. Rinse to pump out. Where fresh rinse water will be sprayed in the cabinet and be diverted to a separate tank with a sump pump and will get pumped out when full.

Pressure will be similar to spot free rinse on car wash.

c. Closed loop rinse. Where reused rinse water will be sprayed on the parts and be diverted to rinse tank to be pumped back into wash chamber during rinse cycle. Pressure will be 45 psi.

Response: Rinse to overflow

21) Are you requesting a heated rinse or non-heated?

Response: Non heated

22) Requesting 3D/2D models and drawing of the wheel and bearing. Knowing this will determine the design the proper parts tree.

Response: No drawing’s available at this time, requested from wheel manufacturer, awaiting response.

23) Turntable size will be 42” diameter. Is there a minimum working height dimension?

Response: 30”

24) Production rate (parts/hr)?

Response: 2 wheels/hr.

25) Any other options: auto-fill, oil skimmer, filtration, or sump sweep?

Response: Auto fill.

26) Is AFOSH STD 48-137 applicable if using a mist collector?

Response: When the machine is vented outside the AFOSH STD is not applicable. A vent will need to be cut to vent the machine outside.
