Workstation requirement remains the same. Workstations will be connected via owner infrastructure. Updated+CCTV+Replacement+Plan.pptx Workstations

Can we co-locate our equipment in the facility MDF, IDF and/or Telephone Rooms and is power available?WADS/SPTS: All supporting equipment will be installed and mounted/secured in WADS Comm Room equipment racks.
- If so, does the Government have space in existing racks for contractor to use? If not, would the Government prefer wall mount or free standing racks? We have existing rack space in the NCCPWS 5.2.4.1.
Does cable run through the Power Plant need to be in conduit?WADS/SPTS: All cable runs are required to meet or exceed BICSI/ANSI/TIA/EIA standards. WADS/CE does not know of a conduit requirements within a powewrplant, however it is expected that the contractor/installer meets installation standards for the environment. My assumption is the BICSI/ANSI/TIA/EIA standards should be sufficient. This contract is an EFIT contract (Engineer, Furnish, Install and Test).
Does the Government prefer Cat6 or Cat6a cabling?WADS/SPTS:
The spec states " NVR shall also have an additional SSD with a 224TB capacity." Standard server configurations using SAS SSD such as Dell have max capacity of 28 drives with 7.68TB each for a total of 215TB raw maximum capacity. Is 215TB raw maximum capacity acceptable?SF desires at least 2 weeks of 24/7 playback footage of all cameras. If 215 TB allows for that, SF has no issuePWS- 5.1
It would be advantageous for the Government to purchase a video surveillance system without a reoccurring licensing fee, such as SMA’s or SmartPlans. All licenses, firmware and software fees shall be non-recurring. The Contractor shall provide confirmation on manufacturer letterhead that they are trained on the specific VMS platform being proposed. Also, licensing for the VMS software being proposed includes the right to upgrade to all future VMS versions and has no cost to upgrade and no recurring licensing fees. VMS solution can not have any additional licensing fees beyond the initial licensing in the contractor's submittal. Should the hardware running the VMS solution reach an end of life the Government shall be able to transfer the licenses to the new VMS hardware at no cost. Is this your intent?Yes.PWS- 5.1
The Contractor shall submit with their proposal a description of what is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The description should include parts, software, labor, and the length of time for each part and software. Does contractor need to submit company letterhead stating the company is certified?YesPWS-1.5.5.
After performing preliminary calculations for bandwidth/throughput based on the specified cameras' resolutions (set to best quality) and frame rates, it appears that a single server might not manage the required load effectively. Would it be acceptable to use two servers to ensure optimal image quality for the cameras?SF desires all cameras set to best resolution - If this requires 2 servers SF has no issues.PWS- 5.1
Shall the contractor show bandwidth calculations in submittal? Bandwidth/throughput is more critical now with the higher resolution cameras than storage.WADS/SPTS: Contractor should provide the bandwidth requirement in their submittal. Post installation bandwidth test results shall be submitted to WADS/SCX PM Andy Watts and WADS/SCQ.
Would the government prefer to have workstation access to camera live views even if the server is down, offline or undergoing updates? Not needed for this requirement.
Would the government prefer to use a single manufacturer for the new NVR/servers, cameras, and workstations, while ensuring compatibility with existing equipment?Any system must be compatible with current cameras and must have the same or better capability as current system.PWS- 5.1
Would the government be open to accepting individual 360 and PTZ cameras on exterior, at the same cost as an all-in-one solution, to provide better coverage with proper mounting?Government desires fields of view comparible or better than current system - Solutions that meets this criteria are acceptable.PWS- 5.1
How many hours of training are expected?2-4 hrs should be sufficient
What is the required runtime for UPS units for servers, switches, workstations, and monitors?WADS/CE and SPTS: Assumption is that switches and servers will have A & B power plus be on an existing UPS/backup power solution.
Is it acceptable to core penetrate the wall in the power plant to accommodate new camera locations? This would remove some conduit and reduce cabling distances.Vic?
During the site visit, no fisheye cameras were observed on the exterior of the power plant, though the drawings indicate their presence. Can you confirm this? This was a Government oversight. The camera on the exterior front door of the power plant is an Axis M3037-PVE - That camera is operational and will not be replaced.
To address the current maintenance and warranty issues, the new contractor plans to use an NVR/Server, workstation, and cameras all from the same manufacturer. Is this your intention?Government is fine with this so long as manufacturer selected is compatiable with operational cameras currently installed.PWS- 5.1
What type of cable will be needed for north exterior pole camera?WADS/SPTS: Outdoor rated cable (OSP - Outside-Plant Cable) that meets BICSI/ANSI/TIA/EIA standards for installations outdoors. This contract is an EFIT contract (Engineer, Furnish, Install and Test).
Will the contractor be responsible for supplying network switches?WADS/SPTS: Yes, because the system/network is standalone and does not ride on any existing WADS network. Although WADS premise infrastructure can be utilized where appropriate. This contract is an EFIT contract (Engineer, Furnish, Install and Test).
If so, will POE++ be specified to eliminate the need for POE injectors and reduce potential points of failure?WADS/SPTS: Assumption is that POE switches will be utilized to provide POE, unless, the cable traverses a classified Procesing area where all unclassified cable must be plenum fiber in order to provide TEMPEST wireline isolation countermeasures.
Will the workstations need to be re-cabled to plenum?WADS/SPTS: All cabling is required to be plenum within the WADS facility. WADS premise infrfastructure can be utilized for the workstation connections where avaiable.
The interior camera you have spec’d in SOW is a 5MP PTZ spec, but on the drawings, you show a 12MP interior fisheye. Can we get better specs for the interior cameras? This was a Government oversight. All Existing interior cameras are either Axis M3007 or M3048-P. Most first floor cameras wer replaced with M3048-p. Desired specs should provide comparible picture or better than current system.PWS- 5.1
What type of camera is needed for the fixed camera on page 7 of drawings?Axis P3268-LVE camera or a similar fixed camera that meets the sailient characteristics outlined in the PWS.PWS- 5.1
