1. What color paint is required to paint the fiberglass horse? How many colors are required for the horse? The sheen of paint? Gloss/ high gloss

a. Color to match Sherwin William SW6868 Real Red. High Gloss Sheen.

2. Type of paint? Car paint, enamel, epoxy, urethane paint?

a. Preferred paint is a urethane paint

3. What is the matching color of the paint to the horse?

a. Sherwin William SW6868 Real Red. High Gloss Sheen.

4. What details are needed with the horse? Eyes, hair, feet, body?

a. Match existing, black hooves, mane and tail. Black to be SW 6989 Domino

5. If used, the fiberglass horse will be destroyed by media blasting and should be removed from the requirement. Recommend other nonabrasive methods to remove paint on fiberglass horses. This job should be done by an artist, not a regular painter.

a. Media blasting requirement removed from SOW, non-abrasive methods allowable for paint/rust removal

6. What color paint is needed for the 12-metal red horse stanchion head?

a. Sherwin William SW6868 Real Red

7. Is media blasting or a low nonabrasive process to remove paint needed on them? This is what I would recommend for this work. Will work be done in place or removed painted and reinstalled?

a. Media blasting requirement removed from SOW, non-abrasive methods allowable for paint/rust removal

8. Is the same color and sheen of paint being used on all horses, black posts, chairs, stanchions, etc?

a. Same red color to be used on all items being painted. Black to be SW 6989 Domino

9. The chain on horses’ stanchions needed to be painted.

a. Chain will be replaced in house

10. Based on valued engineering practices the benches should be replaced vs repaired based on the cost of repairs and better materials available for weather conditions and maintenance for newer benches. The condition of the benches is not worth the overhaul attached are commercial benches at a lower cost.

a. Replacement to the wood components of benches will be done in house.

11. One bench is broken will it need to be replaced? Missing the bench leg could be a safety concern

Will Replacement of hardware be needed for benches? To include concrete anchors?

12. The 21-day requirement for completion may need more time basses on the availability of artists, paint, and repairs to fiberglass. 30 to 60 days would be a more reasonable time based on the availability of paint product, artist, work being performed, and reinstallation.

13. Can most work be done off-site or is it required onsite?

a. Work can be done off-site as needed

14. In addition, I would recommend the granite stone on the monument have maintenance. Cleaned, polished, and resealed and the horse be repainted on stone due to the seen conditions to preserve the monument. This should be done 1 time to 2 times a year based on outside weather conditions.

a. Concur, clean, polish and reseal will be added to the SOW.
