1. The 30 day duration may not be achievable due to material long lead times. Is the owner willing to hold the NTP until after materials are procured and scheduled for delivery, and only start the 30 day timeframe once materials have arrived on site?

ANSWER: Yes, the NTP can be generated after materials have arrived on-site.

1. Will a full time SSHO, with OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR, be required to be on site 100% of the time during the work?

ANSWER: The contractor shall designate a safety representative to be on-site during work.

1. Will a full time QCM, with a USACE CQM certificate, be required to be on site 100% of the time during the work?

1. Can the superintendent, SSHO, and QCM be the same person, or must separate individuals be required to staff the job?

ANSWER: The contractor shall manage their personnel positions according to their workload.

1. Will submittals be required? If so, what will you need, just product data and the sketch mentioned in the SOW? No need for engineered shop drawings or product samples? How about mockups prior to construction? What about product samples?

ANSWER: Use the AF IMT 3000 form to process the required submittals, but not limited to construction design, product data, product samples, as-built drawings and warranty for parts and installation.

1. What is the warranty requirement? One year workmanship? What about finish warranties?

ANSWER: One year workmanship warranty. Standard manufacturer’s warranty for parts and finishes.

ANSWER: Soffit patch is acceptable. All patches should be similar to the existing material and color.

1. Does the concrete need to be patched where the bollards and vacuum tube base plate/anchor bolts are removed?

ANSWER: Yes.

1. Can the bollards just be cut at the finished concrete elevation or do they need to be completely removed down to their foundations?

ANSWER: It can be cut and patch as needed.

1. The design sketches only show 11 posts but it appears that 12 should be required. One post is missing from the brick column. Is the sketch just a concept or is there a reason why there is not a post up against the brick column? Is it safe to assume that we should price 12 total posts, not 11?

ANSWER: The contractor’s design will determine the number of posts (10 to 12) and the fence dimensions. The sketch is a conceptual design.

1. The exterior lane appears to be sloped away from the building, should the fence follow the slope or be constructed level? Or would you prefer the bottom of the fence to follow the slope and the top to be level? i.e. Do you want 6ft tall pickets all the way around or do you want the top height to be uniform, regardless of picket height?

ANSWER: Keep the top height uniform with a constant distance to the existing ceiling. The bottom of the fence can follow the existing slope. Include the details in the construction design.

1. Fence posts in the design concept sketch appear to be wood. Do you want wood or would you prefer steel? The note does say “entire” fence to be made of RHON metal but wasn’t sure if you’re trying to match the aesthetic of the wood posts.

ANSWER: Use steel for fence components in accordance with the “Steel RHON Fence” aesthetic used at Langley AFB.
