About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a furniture package solicitation (W50S98-25-Q-0001) issued by the Tennessee Army National Guard. The solicitation seeks a comprehensive furniture package for a facility, including desks (with specific configurations like adjustable-height and transaction tops), conference tables, storage units, and seating. Key requirements include freestanding furniture with wood veneer or plastic laminate finishes, custom logo engraving, and specific chair models.

The Q&A addresses critical installation details such as delivery logistics (150' from parking lot, no stairs, front door access), electrical requirements (electrician services needed, power outlets within 6' of panels), and installation parameters. The project is 100% set aside for small businesses, with an anticipated installation start date of 15 May, to be completed within the contract timeline. Installers must be US citizens or have government-issued work visas. Proposed furniture must meet detailed specifications, and alternates are allowed but must match or exceed the required standards.

CE B102 FFE – Furniture Package Q&A

1. For desk 1 and 2, I can see that its 2 separate furniture when we can provide you a whole panel system. Where the hutch can be an overhead storage attached to the panel to complete the whole panel around and instead of a credenza, a worksurface that is supported by a pedestal and is integrated to the panel.

A: The Base requires freestanding furniture, when possible, to allow flexibility in re-location and re-configuration in the future. The challenge with desk one and two is the need for a “transaction” top on the guest side of the workstation with an adjustable-height desk on the user side. Hence, the use of panels to hang a shelf on the guest side that does not interfere with the function of the adjustable-height desk. Please price as specified without panel system.

2. Also, the shelf on top of the panel for the side of the height adjustable desk, Is that a storage or a paper tray?

A: The shelf is not to be located on the top of the panel, but at 36” above finish floor.

3. A good example for desks 1 and 2 would be in the image below. With the exception of the shortest panel as it is not needed.

A: Please see comments in #1 and #2. This is not an acceptable solution.

4. Desk 4 and 5, the hutch is too long, at 84"w, is a double hutch acceptable?

A: A double hutch is not acceptable. Please quote 72” hutch for this proposal.

5. Does the building have a loading dock?

A: Yes. Use of the loading dock requires military escort and must be coordinated 48 hours in advance since it resides on the flightline side of the facility. Be advised that the main doorway into the MSG area is a single man door with 35” of width. Any items greater than 35” in width and 84” in height must be assembled in place within the MSG suite.

6. If no loading dock, where will we load/offload the truck?

A: The truck can be offloaded in the front parking lot. Which has available sidewalk and double door into the facility.

7. Approximately how far is it from the truck parking location to the install location?

A: 150’ from the parking lot to the interior space.

8. Are there any stairs that the product will need to go up or down to reach the truck location? If so how many?

A: There are no stairs in the path of delivery and installation.

9. Do we have access to a passenger or a freight elevator to use for delivery to the installation location (if applicable)?

A: Access to a freight elevator is not necessary. The location of the furniture is on the first floor and can be accessed from the front door of the building. There are no steps or stairs leading to the installation location.

10. Will the government provide an electrician to attach the systems furniture to building power?

A: Services of an electrician need to be included in your quote.

11. Do we need to provide an electrician to attach the systems furniture to building power? Will there be an existing power outlet we can connect a furniture power whip to within 6’ of the panels?

A: Services of an electrician need to be included in your quote. Yes, there will be an existing power outlet within 6’ of the connection.

12. Is there any existing furniture that you will need us to include removal/disposal or remove and move to DRMO/government warehouse? If so, what is the quantity and type of furniture that needs to be removed/disposed of?

A: There will not be any existing furniture in the spaces.

13. Regarding the refrigerator credenza, does it need to be Sub-Zero brand or can it be similar.

A: It can be an equal substitute.

14. The conference table with it’s described construction is very specific. Was this description provided by a manufacturer that has a GSA contract? If so what company? If this table has to be made Open Market I’m sure it will not be under the $10,000 limit in addition to the appliances that will most likely be Open Market.

A: The specifications of the conference table establish minimum quality expectations from any manufacturer.

15. Can you provide more information regarding the logo, ( size, finish etc) these details will drive the cost.

A: The preference of the logo is full color, laser engraved, and sealed with same finish as tabletop.

16. In the reception area, where is the power source located for each panel run?

A: We will make certain there is a power source within 6’ of the panel run.

17. In the conference room, where is the power source located for the table?

A: Power for the conference table will be in the floor under the table.
