Questions and answers for BTKZ232001

Q: Is batt fiberglass insulation an acceptable substitute for blow-in insulation in wall cavities? A: Yes, batt fiberglass in is an acceptable substitute

Q: The specification calls for painting of door frames and chair rail in the hallway. Should window frames be painted to match? A: Yes, window frames should be painted to match.

Q: Can you provide approximate square footage of each room of Building 801? A: Please see attached for convenience purposes. All field measurements are the responsibility of the contractor. The government will not held liable for inaccurate measurements or the impacts of the using government provided measurements.

Q: Does the water fountain in the Building 801 hallway need to be detached and reset to accommodate repairs to the wall? A: Base board and wall covering near water fountains in building 801 needs to be repaired and replaced as detailed on the statement of work. The government is not directing the contractor to detach and reset the water fountains.

Q: Could we get sq footage of bld. 801. A: Response – Dimensioned floor plan provided.

Q: The SOW calls out Mannington #4 carpet tile need to know style and color name. A: See revised SOW dated 10 Feb 2023.

Q: LVT says it is Mannington natures path does not give color or name A: See revised SOW dated 10 Feb 2023.

Q: SOW calls for VCT no product or type. A: See revised SOW dated 10 Feb 2023.

Q: Bld. 801 had insulation in walls before demo it was blown in type. Should insulation be reinstalled and should it go to top of wall? If so this would require drywall to be taken down further. A: All walls to have full-height insulation. Contractor installation can be either blow-in insulation or batt insulation.

Means and methods of installation are not dictated in SOW.

Q: Bld. 801 wallpaper brand? A: See revised SOW dated 10 Feb 2023.

Q: Bld. 801 and 736 will the furniture be moved by the Govt and how many day notice will the contractor need to give to the Govt prior to taking that space. A: Government will remove all furniture prior to giving Notice to Proceed.

Q: Bld. 801 could the Govt clarify the scope in the Communication room? Details are on drawings. A:

Any additional clarifications needed should have been asked during site visit.

Q: Bld. 801 and 736 since both building are occupied should the contractor treat the space as a public area and totally clean each area daily or could the areas be blocked off and a containment be built to separate the public? A: Work area in B736 can be contained for contractor work. B801 must always maintain access in corridor. Rooms off corridor may be blocked off for contractor use as needed.

Contractor will only have access to the communication room with prior coordination, and all work in this area must be cleaned daily.

Q: Bld. 801 rooms that have wall paper that needs to be taken down and then painted, what level of finish will be required Level 3 , Level 4 or Level 5 ? A: Drywall shall have a level 4 finish in painted and vinyl wall covering areas.

Q: Bld. 801 and 736 does door frame and windows get painted? A: See revised SOW dated 10 Feb 2023.
